This is my first attempt at HD video on my new 5D MkII. It's not very exciting I know, but it serves its purpose :-)
Note: Created from 5 separate segments combined using Quicktime.

Time Lapse of snow fall. 2-5-2010. 1 photo every 15 seconds for about 900 photos (+/- 30). run together in quicktime @ 24fps
Throngs visit the beautiful bamboo garden in the Arashiyama district. I normally avoid going to places this crowded, but people were very well behaved and I got used to the flow after awhile. It was a bit of a challenge taking pictures without getting bumped into though.

The music is a little more pop, but I think it's a worthy interpretation of this video. The concept behind our piece is about dreams. On the 29th at 1am we launched QuickTime 7. While waiting to post and test, I took the team out to dinner at Sent Sovi. The fabulous folks there decorated our dessert plates... how cool is that?

In rehearsals, we record footage to DV and into QuickTime Pro. This allows Chris to review choreography immediately (via QuickTime Pro). If he wants a hi-res video, I simply capture onto the computer.
QuickTime X is not compatible with RED proxies. Seems that its calling up a 32 bit QuickTime 7 process to play back the proxies. Then it stutters through playback. QuickTime 7 plays back the proxies smoothly.
"When a 64-bit application using QTKit requires the services of the 32-bit-only QuickTime 7 back-end, QTKit spawns a separate 32-bit QTKitServer process to do the work and communicate the results back to the originating 64-bit process. If you leave Activity Monitor open while using the new QuickTime Player application, you can watch the QTKitServer processes come and go as needed. This is all handled transparently by the QTKit framework; the application itself need not be aware of these machinations."
