Quick fix for testing before going through all the work to make an ASA dial. Set the ASA mechanism by carefully counting the clicks and matching the ASA dial cover. Then cover the hole with tape and write the ASA on top. This is a perfectly fine fix because I generally shoot the same film stock and don't need to change the ASA.

I did a lot today and now I am beat. I organized the cabinets, drawers, and pantry in my kitchen. Threw out all the expired food, including tons of spices I've never used or even heard of. I also cleaned the counter tops and appliances, as well as did laundry and a QuickFix Kickbox workout. *whew!*
While I was holidaying in England in July and August 2014, my dear friends, Linda and David, took me on several day trips. Today's trip started with Runswick Bay which is one of the prettiest places I've ever visited.High on a hill above the bay was a little village of gorgeous houses, higgledy piggledy with little winding lanes between them. Every corner held a surprise, gorgeous sun-trap gardens, roses climbing painted walls and views of the bay. It was delightful. We wandered through the lanes, never sure if we were going along a public path or into a private garden. Some one told us 'you can go wherever you like if there are no chains or barriers across.
We then went on to Staithes before I went to Middlesbrough for a meeting. We went home via Helmsley, Hovingham and Castle Howard.

Fellow Calgarian and Flickrite James posted an image yesterday he was hoping someone could fix (a case of overcooked flash). I decided to give it a quick attempt while I was waiting for the family to wake up.
Here's my super duper quick attempt at it in CS3:
- a couple darken and multiply layers, mostly targeting the original's luminance channel
- smudged the skin tones into the overexposed areas to get some colour info there
- a few other minor tweaks (blurring, burning, orton effect)
- I also cropped out a distracting hand in the background
If I were to spend a little more time on it, I'd paint/smudge in more skin info, work on getting a touch more detail in the teeth and sharpen up the eyes.

My computer had a known logic-boad failure issue, which i've had fixed once before. Too bad it happened again, except by now my baby has been classified vintage by Apple. No parts, no sending it out for a fix, no nothing. :( Poor baby's only 5 years old.
