I have been questioning myself for my teens time about what for this big sole tree based near this small stoned hutt.
So far I haven't gotten any answer !
Always makes me smile to think about it ! :)
I'm not questioning the usefulness of traffic lights. But I wonder about their (in)efficiency: it seems to me that a lot of time we waste time waiting, and smart vehicles which sense the surrounding environment could be much more efficient
"There is No God." How often we hear it; how more often we see it being lived out.
But seldom do I hear what rationally should follow the statement above...that.."SInce there is no God, there is no good, and neither is there evil, for there cannot exist a standard to measure these, except by the intensity of pain or pleasure these 2 opposites [good and evil] exert on us. "
But as time runs out, perspectives change.
With the intention of questioning the structural and aesthetic nature of the virtual image, the video installation Slow Track forgoes the excess, speed, spectacle, surrealism, sci-fi, and fantasy commonly associated with computer-generated imagery. The work deploys a ‘perceptually photorealistic’, slow, gentle, and possibly mundane image which is wary of the software that produces it. Rather than a computer-generated image that seduces us with spectacle, this is one which asks for patience.

People are always questioning Guan Liang’s paintings: they look just like children’s work, why are they so valuable? Even some great writers applauded Guan Liang’s paintings, and some famous painters exchanged their works with him. The answer comes from the question itself. Guan Liang’s painting is valuable because it’s just like children’s work, with the innocent heart of an art addict.
“4me4you” visits Lazarides Gallery showcasing Nina Pandolfo - "Feelings".
Lazarides Gallery...>> ln “Feelings”, the popular and expressive wide-eyed girls created by Pandolfo have acquired a mature and confident form in both style and character. Making a departure from her childlike, timid girls with glassy questioning eyes, her beauty—conscious and daring characters are more sophisticated with, elongated forms and a deeper and more contemplative gaze. Whilst steering her fictional creations towards a more developed stage with plentiful references to the world of fashion, Pandolfo continues to seek inspiration from a certain playful sensitivity and treasured childhood memories.

Monday wash day!
Questioning the status of ordinary washing places, Caroline Jacob has shifted the usual location of the laundrette and will transform Mediamatic into a laundrette to present wASH. Preserving the social aspect of the laundrette, Monday Washday Laundrette is an opportunity to gather, try out wASH, as well as tell the stories emerging its creation. As an homage to the heirloom custom and the recipe embodied in the laundry detergent, visitors will be invited to wash their laundry in the space. The laundrette will open its doors every Monday and will be available for free use all day long. Visitors might become performers, clothes gesticulated, machines resonated.
Apparently...yes:
"John,
Last week I forwarded the attached picture to you questioning what animal might be leaving these gems on my trails and driveway. My mystery has been solved as under the full moonlight a few days ago and the fierce barking of my dog, I had the pleasure of a large bear visiting my bird feeding area right close to the front of my house. The feeders had been knocked down a few days earlier, and I had assumed coons had been the culprits as I've discovered them previous years enjoying the feast.
When I opened my door and tried to persuade my dog inside to observe the bear longer, my dog charged at the bear and it did run off. Although I was quite concerned I might have a wounded dog if it decided to swat or be irritated with him. All is well and feel privileged to have had this wild visitor. But the birds are on their own till November I guess. Don't even dare hang up the humningbird feeder!

Creating this piece began by questioning my assumptions about how humans and technology collaborate to create art. Humans are often assumed to be the source of creativity, and technology works mindlessly to realize the human’s vision. But technology is inherently just as creative as a person – for example, it is certainly much more creative at guessing random numbers. So, how could I reverse these roles? In my Collaborative Drawing Machine, a person draws lines on a blank canvas, and the machine creatively reimagines these lines as a landscape.
This process embodies collaboration by allowing users to consider non-human agents as creative equals. OpenCV image processing is used to determine the location of the Axidraw head and the line drawn on the paper. The contour is parsed internally, and my algorithm nondeterministically places features such as birds, houses, trees, towers, lakes, and boats upon the contour to turn the lifeless line into a tiny, floating world.

"A big part of what I'm questioning in my work is what does it mean to be authentic, to be real, to be a genuine article or an absolute fake? What does it mean to be a real black man? Realness is a term applied so heavily to black men in our society." -Kehinde Wiley
Wiley's lavish, larger-than-life images of African American men play on Old Master paintings. His realistic portraits offer the spectacle and beauty of traditional European art while simultaneously critiquing their exclusion of people of color.
This portrait of Willem van Heythuysen references a 1625 painting of a Dutch merchant by Frans Hals, whose bravura portraits helped define Holland's Golden Age. Wiley's model, from Harlem, New York, here takes the name of the original sitter from Haarlem, the Netherlands, whose pose and attitude he mimics. Despite the wide gold frame and the vibrantly patterned background with Indian-inspired tendrils encircling his legs, this subject's stylish Sean John street wear and Timberland boots keep him firmly in the present and in urban America.
Moved from its original location in the museum's 21st-Century Gallery, this work foregrounds the rich dialogues that exist between geographies, time, and cultures.
