I love Physalis. Both to eat and to photograph!
Physalis is characterised by the small orange fruit similar in size, shape and structure to a small tomato, but partly or fully enclosed in a large papery husk derived from the calyx.
The berry also goes by the names Golden Strawberry,Chinese Lantern and Cape gooseberry.
Not all Physalis species bear edible fruit. Select species are cultivated for their edible fruit, however; the typical Physalis fruit is similar to a firm tomato in texture, and like strawberries or pineapple in flavour, with a mild acidity.
Physalis fruit is a good source of vitamin C, beta-carotene, iron, calcium and trace amounts of B vitamins.
These fruits contain 18 kinds of amino acids .
These berries are also abundant in polysaccharides, compounds that may help fortify the immune system.

After several consecutive Black and White images, I was craving some bold colours!
Marcello Scarselli is a well-known Tuscan painter and sculptor who lives in Bientina, near Lajatico in the Pisa province.
Lajatico is the birthplace of the famous Tenor Andrea Bocelli, who holds his annual event in Lajatico at the Teatro di Silenzio. This has transformed Lajatico into a mecca for artists who exhibit artwork around the town, attracting many visitors and improving the local economy.

Four candy-pink, Ranunculus, beauties.
Persian buttercup (Ranunculus asiaticus) is a perennial plant that can grow to be a foot and a half tall.
They have blooms that resemble roses, with simple , like HERE, or branched stems.
The petals are often highly lustrous, some species are popular ornamental flowers in horticulture, with many cultivars selected for large and brightly coloured flowers.
What got me 'in' to 'flower-photography', was that I was fascinated by ‘light’ and wanted to know more about lighting...
That was 27 years ago, it started with painting and evolved into photography.
Flowers seemed the perfect subject matter, because of their different colours, shapes, textures, great variety and 'characters', I'd had many a garden, grown my own, so, I started out with an advantage, I knew about flowers...
I found a niche in the market, for 16 years now people have been 'raving' about them, asking me how I 'do' it?
Copying, imitating and stealing, photos, words and even titles.
They say it is the highest ‘accolade’ for an artist? LOL.
There is NO magic formula, each flower is unique and treated as such! I do NOT consider myself a 'flower-photographer' but a a photographer who knows how to use lighting well...

The facade above the colonnade is decorated with mosaics made between 1854 and 1874 from drawings by Filippo Agricola and Nicola Consoni who were inspired as much as possible to the original tenth century. The mosaic is divided into three bands. In the lower part, on a gold background, alternating the windows are depicted the four prophets of the Old Testament: Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah and Ezekiel. Above them, before the cornice, there is a band with the Agnus Dei on the upstream of the haven from which flow the four rivers symbolizing the Gospels, in which they quench twelve, the lambs, which symbolize the apostles. In the triangular tympanum, finally, there is depicted Christ Blessing place in the middle of St. Paul and St. Peter and the center strip
La facciata sopra il colonnato è decorata con dei mosaici eseguiti fra il 1854 e il 1874 su cartoni di Filippo Agricola e Nicola Consoni che si ispirarono per quanto possibili a quello originale del X secolo. Il mosaico è suddiviso in tre fasce. In quella inferiore, su sfondo oro, alternati alle finestre sono raffigurati i quattro profeti dell'Antico Testamento: Isaia, Daniele, Geremia ed Ezechiele. Sopra di essi, prima del cornicione, vi è una fascia con l'Agnus Dei sul monte del paradiso da cui sgorgano i quattro fiumi simboleggianti i Vangeli, nei quali si dissetano dodici agnelli, che simboleggiano gli apostoli. Nel timpano triangolare, infine, vi è raffigurato Cristo benedicente posto in mezzo a San Paolo e San Pietro e la striscia centrale.

Van der Pekbuurt (neighbourhood).
During the entire renovation of this neighbourhood, the historic appearance of the outside of the houses has been restored. The new wooden doors, windows and frames have the original colours from the 1920s: ocher yellow, dark green and red brown.
De Van der Pekbuurt is gebouwd tussen 1918 en 1926 en is daarmee een van de eerste tuindorpen van Amsterdam. Architect Jan Ernst van der Pek ontwierp de stedenbouwkundige en architectonische opzet in 1916. Rode bakstenen muren, geglazuurde gele bakstenen banden en portieken die uit de gevels springen kenmerkten het straatbeeld. De wijk geldt als beschermd stadsgezicht.
De woonblokken hadden door de vele aanpassingen in de loop der tijd hun oorspronkelijke charme verloren. Door kunststof kozijnen en verdwenen originele details zoals dakkapelletjes, tuinmuren en voordeuren hadden de blokken een armoedige uitstraling gekregen. Ook de originele kleuren waren verdwenen.
Binnen de gehele renovatie van de wijk is aan de buitenzijde de historische uitstraling van de woningen van de Van der Pekbuurt teruggebracht. Zo hebben de nieuwe houten deuren en kozijnen de oorspronkelijke kleuren uit de jaren 1920: okergeel, donkergroen en roodbruin (architectenweb.nl).
