Quartier Habous is a neighbourhood of Casablanca erected between 1918 and 1955 to deal with the arrival of many migrants who came from all corners of Morocco , especially the traders from the city of Fez .
The Habous district develops during the French protectorate, mainly from 1920 to 1930 to accommodate several merchant families from various regions of Morocco, including the city of Fez. This migration is caused by the policy of Marshal Lyautey who wishes to separate the residential areas of the Europeans and those Moroccans .
The name "Endowments" refers to the traditional religious assembly that organizes the allocation of housing in the medina.
The plans of the district are designed from 1917 by Albert Laprade , Deputy Henri Prost , then by Auguste Cadet and Edmond Brion .
The Habous is a unique example of reconstruction of Medina where, while respecting the style and traditional habits, the French architects, including Henri Prost , have complied with the rules of modern town planning.
This area is now home to many artisans and especially booksellers

Quartier Chinois
Le Quartier chinois de Montréal est situé entre la rue Viger, la rue Saint-Urbain, le boulevard René-Lévesque et le boulevard Saint-Laurent. La rue de La Gauchetière est une rue piétonnière où l'on retrouve de nombreux restaurants et commerces. À l'intersection des rues Gauchetière et Clarke, le Montréal souterrain, de même que le métro, station Place-des-Arts, sont accessibles via le Complexe Guy-Favreau. Le métro Place-d'Armes est situé entre le Quartier chinois et le Vieux-Montréal, près de l'hôtel de la chaîne Holiday Inn dont l'architecture comporte des éléments chinois.
Les origines du quartier chinois remontent aux années 1860, l’époque à laquelle le peuple du dragon a débuté son histoire au Canada en contribuant à l’établissement du chemin de fer. Venant en grande partie de la Colombie-Britannique et de la Chine du Sud, ces nouveaux arrivants chinois, majoritairement des Cantonnais, se sont progressivement établis dans ce secteur autrefois résidentiel1.
C'est en 1902 que l'appellation Quartier chinois désigne officiellement ce quadrilatère du quartier Saint-Laurent de Montréal. Principalement sur la rue de La Gauchetière, entre les rues Chenneville et Clark, les premiers Chinois vont ouvrir leurs petits commerces, restaurants ou épiceries fines1.
Par la suite, un afflux de l’immigration asiatique au cours des affrontements de la Guerre Froide apporta des influences vietnamiennes au Quartier chinois. La forte concentration de Chinois dans le secteur commençait à diminuer alors qu'une partie des membres de la communauté chinoise de Montréal choisissaient de s’installer dans les banlieues de la métropole. Toutefois, l’enclave poursuivait son développement à pas gigantesques à la fin des années 1990, lors du début de la libéralisation de l’économie chinoise et du retour de Hong Kong à la Chine. Les hommes d’affaires, craignant un resserrement du contrôle chinois sur la péninsule, transféraient leurs capitaux monétaires au Canada tout en collaborant dans des projets du Quartier chinois. Dernièrement, un second quartier chinois a vu le jour dans la ville de Brossard où vingt pour cent de la population déclarent être d’origine chinoise.
