Jefferson Lab LOVEwork sculpture is made from Advanced Photon Source (APS) light source vacuum chambers. The “girders” were shipped from Argonne National Lab to JLab, so the magnets and other components could be repurposed for use on the new Electron Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
The LOVEwork sculpture was created for the 2024 JLab Open House and coincides with Virginia Tourism Cooperation’s iconic Virginia is for Lovers slogan and the other 300+ LOVEworks signs located around the state.

Hall B is the site of the CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer called CLAS12. Powerful magnets steer the electron beam into a target in the experimental hall. The beam's individual electrons smash into the protons and neutrons inside the nuclei of atoms in the target. These violent collisions produce new particles; heavier versions of the familiar protons and neutrons as well a whole variety of intermediate mass particles called "mesons". The outgoing electron that collided with the target nucleus, as well as the produced particles, go flying out into our detector, where they're measured.
Our job as particle physicists is to use these measurements to try to deduce the underlying structure of protons and neutrons in the target and to try to understand the forces that create these particles.

The Technology Commercialization Internship Program (TCIP) is a unique paid opportunity for undergraduate STEM and business students to experience the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE's) world-class National Lab system, boost their entrepreneurial thinking, and explore energy technology markets.
Interns have the opportunity to engage with National Laboratory mentors and learn about technologies at their partnered Laboratories. This internship focuses on the business side of technology commercialization where interns will learn skills such as customer discovery, value propositions development, and market sizing. Interns apply these skills to their assigned technologies at their host lab.

A $7.5 million grant from DOE’s Accelerate initiative, which hopes to literally “accelerate” the translation of new technologies into industrial applications. The goal is to further develop a compact, high-power, and energy-efficient SRF accelerator that could one day be used in water treatment plants or other industrial settings, such as chemical processing plants.

The Measurement of a Lepton-Lepton Electroweak Reaction (MOLLER) experiment proposes to measure the parity-violating asymmetry in electron-electron (Møller) scattering. The measurement will be carried out at Jefferson Laboratory's state-of-the-art accelerator by rapidly flipping the longitudinal polarization of electrons that have been accelerated to 11 GeV and observing the resulting fractional difference in the probability of these electrons scattering off atomic electrons in a liquid hydrogen target.
