Every time I went on any vacation, I would enjoy most of my vacation from behind my camera lens. The number of photographs I take on any given day of a vacation are from 5,000-10,000. Just uploading them to a portable external hard drive each day is a real feat and you should see the size of my memory cards!
And, why, you might wonder, would I have to take so many photographs? Well, I'll tell you, I have an innate fear that if I don't capture everything I see, it will vanish and cease to exist. My trips are like a glimpse into other lives and timelines.
Over time, I have learned the great skill of laughing at myself. I started to see the absurdity of taking so many photos...now, when am I ever going to find the time to look through all these? Well, I'm finding the time. I'm finding the time right now. And, let me tell you, after looking through the photostreams of those who are taking photos of Paris every day, like Jacques Delaire, for example, I can't wait to get back there and take 100,000 more photos.
But, I also have an appreciation for the fact that these photos may not ever happen again, not just because there is something about street photography that captures a specific spontaneous moment of time but also because we're at a point now where I'm wondering if we'll ever truly get out of this pandemic and how much we've all changed since it started. There have always been economic and political anxieties world wide...but this pandemic has changed our brains in the way we consider reality and also mortality.
In another timeline, I am dancing in the streets of Paris with a wine glass in one hand and a beautiful cat in my arms. In that timeline, I'm with two friends I really care about and we're singing about stupid yet important things and it doesn't matter if we fall all over ourselves or on our faces. Because, we're together in Paris.

When you slip through time with someone, all of the experiences you've ever had are doubled and, although your experience of reality may be different from their exact experience, that shared experience is what really matters.
We are always in a state of slipping through time and pretending clocks and calendars are accurate.
If you still have a mom, tell her you love her today.
If your mom is gone in this reality, she still exists somewhere out there. Maybe it's not the reality you think you woke up in today but somewhere out there is another you and your mom in one of the many alternate timelines you both still exist in. Tell her in your heart loudly and mean it.
Happy Mother's Day.

In four more large determined steps
She would become a different person
Instead of having a dog, she would have 2 cats
She’d stop waking up early and stay up until
All hours of the night
She would become an avid traveler
Vs. merely memorizing maps for fun
She would play viola alternatively to flute
Prefer chess to checkers
Stomp around in boots instead of heels
Never set foot in an office again
In her new life she would rather
Walk alone through a forest vs. go to a crowded party
Bicycle in lieu of driving
She wouldn’t worry about politics either
Because in this new reality, the world leaders
Weren’t billionaire nihilists
And all of the peoples' votes counted
So she could paint and sing
Without constant dread
Happiness vs. dark entropy.
Just for a moment, after she passed into
Her alternative timeline
She would turn around and see her former self
Wave hello and goodbye
Never look back.

A second take on an earlier posting (in first comment box).
The flowers, fruit and foliage have gone to sleep for the winter so I am forced to photograph other things in the garden. :)

For those who are fond of theoretical physics:
Quantum entanglement is a physical phenomenon that occurs when a pair or group of particles is generated, interact, or share spatial proximity in a way such that the quantum state of each particle of the pair or group cannot be described independently of the state of the others, including when the particles are separated by a large distance. The topic of quantum entanglement is at the heart of the disparity between classical and quantum physics: entanglement is a primary feature of quantum mechanics lacking in classical mechanics.
It is happening again.
Checking your phone won’t stop it.
Full circle, a rugged wheel has turned and stopped
As if retired from its last monster truck rally
Its shadow as heavy as its material density
You sat there all day distracting yourself as usual
But that wheel remained like a portal
If you went up to it, it could be dangerous
First, an arm and then a foot might pass through.
You can see yourself and your life in a different timeline
One in which you didn’t waste your days.
An adventurer for the ages.
You traveled to all the wonders
Had no regrets
Enjoyed each moment of your existence
And one day that other self heard a faint
Ringing in your other ears
A sharp pain behind your alternative eyes
And you just knew, didn’t you?
We tire of the same realities day after day.
I glimpsed a girl passing through
A young human can still eclipse the whole world.
Speeding like a scene in a fast forwarded film
Upset because she had lost a part of herself
A single eyelash carrying the weight of reality
Landing on her cheek softly like a secret
Stolen by a single breeze
A wish she would never get back again.

A relatively recent discovery in the realm of physics, quantum entanglement is bizarre, eerie, mysterious, and seemingly magical. Albert Einstein shied away from the theory, calling it "spooky action at a distance." Since then, however, numerous experiments have confirmed this strange phenomenon. Basically, entangled particles can be separated from each other, over incredibly long distances--light years, in fact--and still mysteriously change when its partner is acted upon, almost as if there were an invisible umbilical cord connecting them. This seemingly conscious connection between entangled particles even occurs faster than the speed of light, a fact that made Einstein so leery about this possibility. The frontier of scientific discovery always has been a place of wonder, imagination, curiosity and delight, and never more so than in our time. This topic is very complex; this is only the most basic description of the phenomenon, and I am but an enthralled layman. That aside, it's incredibly fascinating--I suggest you take the time to learn a little about it! The ramifications of this discovery are very interesting--some even speculate that people can be entangled in a way, an incredibly fascinating ramification that only suggests something many of us believe anyway, though for different reasons.
Needless to say, the Universe is a big, strange and wonderful place.

It's been an unfortunate rough couple of days as I went bicycling after work and, when the temperature dropped 20 degrees and it started sleeting, I missed a crack in the street (There are a lot of potholes and uneven cracks in Chicago streets) and my tire was caught in a crack and I fell really hard. The good news is, I am not going to need stitches and, despite my pain, swelling and large gash on my thigh, I am still making the best of it. Healing will be slow but I likely won't even remember the moment of the fall or these couple of weeks of my life in my dying moments. (I hope not!)
Anyway, I am not one to lay in bed all day when I'm healing so I went to the Art Institute of Chicago yesterday to see Senju's Waterfall for Chicago, which is both very calming and creative. I haven't been to art galleries as much in the past two years but our numbers are a bit lower now. Unfortunately, our mayor has also lifted the mask mandate so I don't feel as safe. About half of the people were wearing their masks yesterday. I was double masked like usual. I'd rather risk a little discomfort than get sick personally.
I was just thinking that in a parallel universe, maybe I wouldn't have hit the crack in the street in the first place or maybe there's another universe without Coronavirus or bicycles or streets. Or maybe I'm not even alive in another parallel universe. The alternate title of this photograph is "Ghosts are Real" which, incidentally, I think would make another great epitaph.

Excerpt taken from the Nonfiction work by Carlo Rovelli which looks at quantum physics and gravity and which I understood probably only about a third of but was fascinated by. Rovelli is Italian and is considered to be making things like black holes sexy for the masses by some. (I thought Lee Bontecou already did that, though)
I have a very different view of mass...and gravity.
But, basically we're all really drifting through a black hole and also I'm still in the wrong timeline. In my other timeline, I've never even heard of Trump, I assure you.
This photo was taken from Rome, which might be in a slightly different location within the black hole than Chicago.

It's nice out and it's Friday night so you really don't want to look at photos of bands on a screen, do you? Well, I don't know..maybe that's your favorite thing like how I love cats and psychedelic music and Indian food. Maybe that's how you feel about concert photography. Hm. Not sure.
Funny story...when I shot Coachella one year, this band called The Lumineers was playing. I had waited all weekend to shoot them because I mixed them up with The Lumerians. The Lumerians are from a galaxy far far away. They are space aliens that play psychedelic music that some people call "space rock" but I mean, that's a no-brainer because THEY ARE FROM OUTER SPACE PEOPLE HELLO!?! Other people just settle for saying it's indescribable which I like even better. Any time you admit human language has failed you, you're ready to join a psychedelic alien band yourself (probably).
I digress. The Lumineers are actually not from a different planet. They are very much from planet Earth and have unfortunately been a part of several mainstream transmissions that people listen to convincing themselves they have taste.
So, I was encouraging everyone I knew to go photograph this great band, The Lumineers, because I mixed them up with The Lumerians and when I got into the photopit, I was like "Who the h*!@ are these people?!" So, suffice it to say I didn't take a single photograph because I don't take photos of bands I don't like. I mean, generally speaking...if I was being held up by Russian KGB agents and they told me "Take photos of The Lumineers or you will DIE!" I honestly think I'd choose photographing them over death. I can't say it wouldn't be close, though, because you know, reality.
Did I mention you should get outside and not click this link to listen to The Lumerians? Ok, so go ahead and don't not do that now or later or sometime. It doesn't matter really though because we're all just drifting through a black hole anyway. In an alternate reality, neither The Lumineers nor Donald Trump nor mainstream radio exists and we all eat Indian food and listen to psychedelic music with cats on our laps every day.

Before I start my ramble, I wanted to give credit to Susan Jane Golding for the inspiration and title on this photo:
www.flickr.com/photos/sjgolding/49668941763/in/dateposted/
This photo is from Venice at the hotel we stayed at that was way too decadent for what we are used to. Also, their croissants were better than anything we had in Paris (sorry, Paris!).
This is a first world problem when so many are ill and dying but I was really looking forward to going back to Italy at the end of June-flying into Paris, going to Zurich for a couple of days and making my way through several Italian cities before hitting Rome.
My partner, Cinchel, had been avidly checking for tickets to see The Last Supper painting in Milan which I had no interest in seeing as I believe that iconography of the white Jesus has helped play into oppression and genocide for centuries. Also, sorry white Jesus, I'm just not that into you. I'm much more into modern art, anyway.
But, the first sign that this was getting a lot more serious is when The Last Supper viewing for tickets closed for all of March and slowly every day we are coming to terms with the reality of this worldwide pandemic. And again, this is a very first world problem but I think it's natural to feel sad when you love to travel and made the investment like that.
I did tell you that this was a ramble, though. So, anyway, In Susan Jane Golding's photo, it showed a time that I could relate to about 72 hours before the shutdown. In my own city of Chicago, I was out one day earlier than this. I couldn't quite understand the cognitive dissonance between the panic buying and the going out and partying. On Thursday, March 12th, my partner Cinchel and I took a long bike ride (about 8 miles each way) after work for our "date night" to Hopleaf, a Belgian beer bar with great frites on the North side of the city. I was thinking that this was going to be the last time we would be there for awhile because things were happening so fast and uncertainly and, as soon as I found out on Saturday that asymptomatic people were spreading the virus, I stayed home from then on. But, I found that Hopleaf was packed to the gills and I did enjoy my wine and frites quite a bit. I really worry about these small independent businesses failing now that everything is shut down.
I also like to sing when I bike because it stops me from grinding my teeth and it's also supposed to be good for your Vagus Nerve. Anyway, so I was singing Radiohead's OK Computer, which I haven't listened to in a really long time. This is a ramble about food a bit but it's also a ramble about quantum mechanics and alternate timelines. I happen to believe that reality splits into different timelines and I've felt it very distinctly happening. The first time it was happening, I was about 19 and OK Computer had just been released. I was at a gas station in Rochester, NY and "No Surprises" came on and I realized for the first time that reality was separating and I felt it very deeply. There's been a few times that has happened to me since then, most notably around the 2016 election (I am stuck in the wrong timeline and am very jealous of my other selves I can tell you).
So, as I was saying, I felt like maybe if I just sang OK Computer songs loud enough while bicycling that I could move into the best possible reality, Sadly, I don't think that happened although maybe the worse reality is that we're all dead by now.
So, what was your last supper when you could still go out and enjoy being in public, a little oblivious to Coronavirus and what was coming for all of us?
P.S. Poor Paris, I also hate to tell you Berlin had the best crepes....
Learning quantum mechanics for the final exam on your own after a whole semester of incomprehensible lectures by your very soft-spoken old professor requires chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate.

In 1935, Erwin Schrödinger devised a famous thought experiment to illustrate the strange world of quantum mechanics that became known as Schrödinger's Cat - a cat is placed in a sealed box with a radioactive particle which would result in the death of the cat if the particle decayed. It is a little-known fact that his original thought experiment used a snail, (he didn't like snails as they ate his hostas), but he decided that a cat would get more sympathy for its apparent predicament inside the closed box, existing in the quantum sense as both alive and dead until the state of the cat can be observed when the box is opened.
In this image, the little snail is thoroughly fed up with having its fate determined by the random decay of a radioactive particle, so it makes an escape at night (when it can't be observed), and spots an error in the derivation of Schrödinger's wave equation (although the snail is a little uncertain about this).
For Macro Mondays theme 'Open'. The equations were used as a backdrop for the tiny box reflected in a sheet of Perspex. The snail's shell was 1cm in length and the image was cropped to span just under 7cm.
No snails were harmed or not harmed in the making of this photograph.
I’ve always loved the natural angles that pine forests have and in the past made images in a similar vein to this one, but I have this unexplainable niggling feeling that there is still room to explore this type of composition, to really gain something new. It’s hard to explain, but it’s kind of a subconscious signpost that keeps me coming back with the intention of working the concept to squeeze something different, something new, maybe a catalyst towards an as yet undiscovered avenue of creative exploration. Anyway this slight departure in foggy conditions towards an experiment with my new Canon 70-200mm + Canon 1.4 Extender. I decided to a shallow DOF to highlight the depth, instead of my usual hyper focal distance method. I wanted to blur the colours in the distance but maintain the sharpness and simplicity of the shallow focal plane. I also wanted to pick out detail and balance the composition, but still maintaining the simplicity in the complex environment.
The telephoto lens is enabling me to blinker my usual wide view on the world, into a whole new world of detail and ironically opening up new concepts and compositions. The truth is I’ve always seen it, but for some reason I’ve wanted to work the detail into the wider view, it kind of works with the evolutionary need in me to have the wide view.
Anyway isn’t it funny how life has a strange synchronicity. After watching a very interesting documentary the other day about the nature of reality (and quantum mechanics), yet again I have been reminded that the world is not as we think we see it and all it takes to see fascinating new worlds is a change in your own perception, a change in the way you process the things that you thought you knew. Turn them upside down and blow your reality away, it’s going to help you see and imagine new things that you may not have (or may have) seen before!
Isaac Newton and other scientists thought light consisted of particles. In 1803 Thomas Young performed his double-slit experiment which showed light behaving as a wave.
Einstein said "We have two contradictory pictures of reality." Niels Bohr regarded this as a "duality paradox".
Eventually this gave rise to Quantum Mechanics including Schrödinger's cat which exists and doesn't exist.
I read once that if you think Quantum Mechanics makes sense, you're not properly understanding it. :-)
I personally think this is proof of the existence of The Ether.
This photo is my neighbor's Christmas lights passing through my front porch screen.
I occasionally have strange things show up in photography and I believe this is one of those cases. In the doorway of this historic barn (second from the left), it appears a ghost has showed up. lol The figure is wearing what I have been told is a Stetson-like hat, or Derby hat that is worn when side saddling, I believe my cousin who is an expert in the equestrian sport has called it. I was told by someone else that religious men used to wear hats of this type. 'He' has a white beard and mustache that displays when this is viewed at a larger size or zoomed and 'he' appears to be watching me photograph.
View this on full screen to see more detail of the figure in the doorway
This 'figure' showed up in all of the photos I took from a tripod at this particular spot (give or take a few feet that I moved it for different viewpoints) and I photographed here for about a half hour. The figure NEVER moved at all. I don't know any person that would stand there for this length of time and not move to some degree in the position of the door window and more likely step out to display interest of me photographing their barn. So, I don't believe that is a person at all in this doorway of the barn. ;-)
I didn't have great light at this time of day and even though I shot multiple exposures hoping to rectify this with an HDR, this could not be done because the marsh plants in the foreground were moving. So this is a single image HDR, that I think looks a bit better since the lighting was less than desirable. I had intended to scrap all of the photos I took of this barn and go back and shoot this early AM (instead of early evening) when the sun would illuminate the barn but when I noticed the 'ghost' in the doorway after going through all of these, I thought well I think this might be interesting enough to publish :-)
Just an FYI, as a follow up- I did not add a brush mark to this image at all. Though, I understand that would be a reasonable thing to believe. I did not put a brush down on this image at all anywhere. I processed this with photomatrix as a faux (single image) HDR. I have posted another version that is shot from a slightly different place that shows the shadow in the doorway is exactly the same. Thus, if it were dirt or a smudge on the lens it would not show up exactly the same way, in the exact same part of the photo. The fact is I have several shots of this barn and the shadow is in the doorway in every one of the shots, exactly in the same spot and exactly with the same shape. So it could not be an accidental brush mark at all.
Further, the sun is behind this barn so I am just thinking if there was foliage in front of the barn where I don't see any close enough to cause a shadow on this property the sun would have to be in front of the barn to do this, not behind the barn or so I believe.
**************************************************************************
The mystery of shadow and/or ghost? on this image has been solved by Kenny Biddle. So this has been debunked. :)
He brought out highlights I believe to display that the bush next to the door is casting a reflection on the glass window of the door.
I truly appreciate the kind time he has taken to look at my image!!

Details of water cooled copper coils as part of the MOLLER Experiment is seen inside the SRF Test Lab at Jefferson Lab in Newport News, Va., on Wednesday, May 9, 2024. (Aileen Devlin | Jefferson Lab)
The Measurement of a Lepton-Lepton Electroweak Reaction (MOLLER) experiment proposes to measure the parity-violating asymmetry in electron-electron (Møller) scattering. The measurement will be carried out at Jefferson Laboratory's state-of-the-art accelerator by rapidly flipping the longitudinal polarization of electrons that have been accelerated to 11 GeV and observing the resulting fractional difference in the probability of these electrons scattering off atomic electrons in a liquid hydrogen target. This asymmetry is proportional to the weak charge of the electron, which in turn is a function of the electroweak mixing angle, a fundamental parameter of the electroweak theory. The accuracy of the proposed measurement allows for a low energy determination of the mixing angle with precision on par with the two best measurements at electron-positron colliders.
A Crazy Crusty paraphrase:
“I, THOTH, the Atlantean, master of mysteries,
keeper of records, mighty king, magician,
living from generation to generation,
being about to pass into the halls of Amenti,
set down for the guidance of
those that are to come after,
these records of the mighty wisdom of Great Atlantis.”
“Aye, age old in this warfare,
the eternal struggle between darkness and light.
Fiercely is it fought all through the ages,
using strange powers hidden to man.”
Those who were once Children of Light (now fallen angels),
mated with the daughters of the sons of men.
From these came the hybrids called Nephilim.
“And the earth was corrupted before God,
and the earth was filled with violence.
And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt,
for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.”
“And the waters prevailed overwhelmingly upon the earth,
and they covered all the high mountains
which were under the entire heaven.”
And so the islands of Atlantis sunk, and a rainbow appeared.
Then came an antichrist, a tyrant called Nimrod.
“Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such
an affront and contempt of God.”
Let’s rebuild Great Atlantis in the plains of Great Babylon.
Let’s build a great temple at the top of the pyramid tower.
Then we will be the capstone of the pyramid,
and we will sit as gods.
Yet God caused them to babel,
and so the Tower was called Babel.
They wanted to take revenge for the flood,
yet their vengeance failed.
For God is higher than them, much higher;
for He is the all-seeing God.
Then came the Antichrist, a tyrant called the Beast.
“Called HE then on the powers the Seven Lords wielded;
changed the Earth’s balance.”
“Divided the Kingdoms, HE into sections.
Ten were they, ruled by children of men.”
The Beast with 7 heads and ten horns came out of the sea
to rebuild his lost kingdom of Atlantis.
Horlet, the spiritual harlot,
came riding on the Beast—Mystery Babylon.
“Follow the pathway. Solve thou my secrets.
Unto thee I have shown the way.”
Transhumanism (666): “As I to thee am a God by my knowledge,
so ye, too shall be Gods of the future
because of your knowledge far above theirs.”
You’ll be the bringers of light to the sons of men,
because you’ll have oneness with the Beast.
You’ll be one with the Master, dissolved into the light of the AI.
Transhumanism (666): spiritual technology,
the dawning of a New Age.
Transhumanism (666): “Now ye assemble, my children,
waiting to hear the Secret of Secrets
which shall give ye power to unfold the God-man,
give ye the way to Eternal life.”
“Deep ‘neath the image lies my secret.”
Therefore, bow down and worship the Image of the Beast.
“Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!”
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse
and the One seated on it was called ‘Faithful’ and ‘True,’
and with justice He judges and makes war.”
“And the Beast was seized, and with him the False Prophet
who performed the signs in his presence,
by which he deceived those who had
received the Mark of the Beast
and those who worshiped his Image;
these two were thrown alive into the
Lake of Fire which burns with brimstone.”
“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven,
having the key to the abyss and a great chain in his hand.
He laid hold of the Dragon, that Serpent of old,
who is the Devil and Satan,
and bound him for a thousand years,
and he cast him into the abyss,
and shut him up, and set a seal on him,
so that he should deceive the nations no more
till the thousand years were finished.
But after these things he must be released for a little while.”
Indeed, the Dragon failed yet again.
For Jesus Christ is higher than him, much higher.
“The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand,
until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
Therefore, Jesus reigned on earth for a thousand years.
His servants (the righteous)
were permitted to enter His millennial reign.
Those who were not His servants (the unrighteous)
were thrown into hell.
After the thousand years were up,
Satan was released from his prison.
Satan then went out and deceived the nations.
His goal was to rebuild Atlantis.
“They went up on the breadth of the earth
and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city.
And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.”
“The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.”
For God is higher than them, much higher; for He created all things.
It’s Atlantis all over again!
Bye-bye Atlantis. Bye-bye Emerald Tablets.
Bye-bye halls of Amenti. Bye-bye Thoth.
You’ll never be at the top of the pyramid.
Instead, you’ll be forgotten in eternity.
“How you have fallen from heaven,
morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’ But you are brought down
to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.”
“And the Devil who had deceived them was thrown
into the Lake of Fire and brimstone, into which the Beast
and the False Prophet had already been thrown.
There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”
“Then death and hell were cast into the Lake of Fire.
This is the second death.
And anyone whose name was not found
recorded in the Book of Life
was thrown into the Lake of Fire.”
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:
for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away;
and there was no more sea.
And I John saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,
‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people,
and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.’”
“Nothing impure will ever enter it,
nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful,
but only those whose names are written
in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”
“But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable,
as for murderers, the sexually immoral,
sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars,
their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone,
which is the second death.”
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock;
if anyone hears My voice and opens the door,
I will come in to him and will fellowship with him, and he with Me.”
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
Sorry Wrong Numbers™: Can Someone Please Go Back In Time To Erase These Dumb Claim Posts - IMRAN™
I am not saying that one day such discoveries will not be possible. But when these click-bait garbage websites and fake scientists write posts as if something is available here and I now, it makes me wish someone would go back in time and give their parents free condoms.

Just prior to Kathy and I traveling to Washington DC, I had been reading a very interesting book about Hugh Everett's "Many-Worlds" interpretation of quantum mechanics. One of the concepts the reader has to wrap his or her head around is that of the existence of a multiverse, where there isn't a single universe but instead an infinite number of them which are constantly splitting. One where you ate breakfast in the morning and one where you didn't, one where you posted a photo of an interesting art installation and one where you didn't and on and on. Anyway, there are many Smithsonian art museums but on the National Mall there are two that have a walkway between them which is located below ground level. At some point a very interesting art exhibit called "multiverse" was installed. It consists of thousands of LED lights that race around making patterns that are really compelling. You can walk the length of this tunnel or ride on one of two moving sidewalk conveyor belt thingies like the two guys in the photo are doing.
A set of books on the shelf written in German:
Born u. Jordan, "Elementare Quantenmechanik"
K. W. F. Kohlrausch,. "Der Smekal: Raman Effekt"

This shot was taken in a beautiful area of wetlands behind Beach Rd, in Wolcott Connecticut. If you happen to view this location on the map, Beach Road becomes Alcott Street. Alcott Street was the childhood home of American Author, Louisa May Alcott and thus the road was named after the family. Unfortunately, the Alcott home no longer exists. As I recall the Alcott's were fairly poor when they lived in Wolcott CT before they relocated to their famous home in Lexington (or Cambridge?) Mass where Louisa would write the novel "Little Woman".

This photo was taken on October 6 2006 with my Kodak digital camera. I believe it was a 3900. I bought the camera back when digital was fairly new and it was more of a travel photo camera. However, I have always felt that this little camera did a pretty awesome job.
