These machines filter tens of thousands of kilos of coffee beans a day at the coffee cooperation of Salgar in south west Antioquia. the biggest sizes (supremo) are the most expensive. The really bad leftovers (right) are used for local consumption.

the coordinate measuring machine is used to precisely measure and check specific points of a machined part against the engineer's specifications. the tiny probe touches the part it various places and makes a little 'beep!' when the measurement is taken. it was very cool to see such a big machine working so quickly yet so daintily.
