Hand-made corkscrew from the famous French artisan region Laguiole. A nice classic. The only thing I don't like about it is the smooth blade (not serrated) to cut a winebottle's foil. Supposedly there's an old man at quality control who has been doing qualitycontrol for decades. Beware of lots of fake offerings on internet. The bee (abeille) - a badly crafted one - is a telltale sign of fakes.
Strobist: SB-800 bounced of wall facing away from the corkscrew, on-camera Commander flash dialed down to EV -1.7, taken with the 105mm lens to get rid of shadows. Background is a spare wet tile. A leftover tile from my new bathroomfloor.
Photoshop: The Nikon D80 and SB-800 have a tendency to create a lot of CA on shiny surfaces (metals and waters etc.), so I choose the Color Balance (Command-U) tool and selected the green and red CA bits and decreased their saturation and lightness. The area around the lettering was horrible.
*80% of this brand are Chinese fakes. This one turned out to be fake as well. The iron broke off.
As a kid I read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A Swiss chocolate factory was closed when we were there years ago. I finally scored in Toronto's Distillery District, where I got to see the real thing. Up With Chocolate!!!!
These are the different plastic based raw materials that are used to manufacture casings, caps and empty bottles. They come in different colors, which are then mixed together to get the right color mix.

128/365 We went strawberry picking today and ended up picking a flat and eating a few more. I'm pretty sure we got the better end of the deal. My son quickly took the lead role of quality control and enjoyed sampling as many as he could.
The staining of the brickwork has occurred as a result of rainwater running off a scaffold platform, washing mortar and cement onto the face of the wall. Up-turning the inner scaffold board at the end of each shift can prevent this.

Visiting schools for a ten year old's impending leap from primary to secondary can be a stressful process. Schools across Westminster, Southwark and Lambeth have their Open Days on the same day and the hours of opportunity to look around the school and hear the Headteacher give their motivational recruitment speech in some cases overlap, with the venues kilometres apart.
So it was yesterday when we went to Pimlico and then to Kingsdale and after to Charter.
My partner suggested that we should take the bus over the river and I suggested driving because Pimlico was from 8.45am to 10am and Kingsdale was 10am to 11am and they are about 10KM apart. It all seemed very straightforward. Pay the congestion charge and park near the school. Except there is NOWHERE to park in Pimlico anymore. I dropped them off...
