These blind flanges are used for the hydrostatic testing of our pieces of equipment. Every single piece of impervious graphite or silicon carbide process equipment that leaves the GAB Neumann workshop is hydrostatically tested for strength and leaks. The test involves filling the vessel with water and pressurization of the vessel to the specified test pressure. Pressure tightness is tested by shutting off the supply valve and observing whether there is any pressure loss. More... www.gab-neumann.com/Quality-Insurance

Jeder einzelne Graphit- oder Siliziumkarbid Apparat, welcher unser Werk verlässt wird vorher durch eine Wasserdruckprüfung auf Leckage untersucht. Der Test wird durchgeführt indem der Druckbehälter mit Wasser gefüllt und mit dem spezifizierten Druck beaufschlagt wird. It's about an inch wider than the Sunkey, but about the same height and depth. No channel display, but a green light when it's on, and a red "standby light when it's off. It hooks up the same way the Sunkey did: antenna to the "in" port, TV to the "out", and plug it in. The plug's a lot better, too; just a regular two-prong instead of some giant 2" x 2" cube.
An added feature: channel up/down buttons on top of the box. The remote can be programmed to power both the box and TV, and it's chunkier and more substantial than the Sunkey's wafer-thin unit.
A hopeful sign of Digital Stream's confidence in its products: the website and phone number on a sticker on top of the box! (Sunkey never did that.) Let us hope.

Members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Construction Branch conducted the Construction Quality Management of Contractor’s Course, Feb. 18 – 19.
Shawn Soltis and John Pontus instructed 24 students through the two-day course. The course offers students the opportunity to satisfy the CQMC training requirements specified for contractors to compete for USACE construction contracts.
Students must achieve a score of 70 percent or higher to receive the certification which is valid for five years.
All of the students in the classed passed the course, and six of them scored 100 percent.

I got these very cheap clones because I have a theory. I'm sure you can see why but what I think is that these heads are original Mattel heads that have ended up being their own clones. I'll unbox them later and post my findings, like whether the heads have the proper markings and are indeed original Barbie heads. :]

A minor project delivered a 3D visualisation tool for the vast amount of data collected by the Laser Airborne Depth Sounder Unit. Making use of Fledermaus software and a high end workstation for the Royal Australian Navy Hydrographic Service.
