A synthetic vibraphone, synthesised on the Arduino by using the PWM (pulse-width modulation) facility. Same Y scale as the photo of the filtered PWM signal, but a much slower timebase. Fuzziness of the signal is due to residual, un-filtered-out, PWM signal at 31.25kHz.

PWM 3962 a powered Wickham at Furnace Sidings, Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway. Works No. 6947/1955 it was powered by a 4 cylinder 1150cc Ford SV engine.

Getting started bending wire. I like stripping a length off the end and keeping it on the wire, clipping it when it's done. The round-nose pliers make lovely bends.
The net is full of descriptions of servo timing (a 0.5 to 2.5ms pulse in a 20 to 25ms field), but diagrams are rarely to scale, so people miss just how short the ON pulse is compared to the overall period.

Slip Ring Induction Motor Drive with slip recovery using IGBT
Necessity:
Normally the Slip Ring Induction motor is used Variety of applications such as Rolling of high voltage Electrical cables, Telephone cables etc., where we have a lot of torque and speed control is required. The speed control in Slip Ring Induction Motor is done by varying the voltage drop at the outputs of the motor, using a rheostat. This Project consists of necessary hardware for driving a Slip Ring Induction Motor. Normally the slip voltage from the motor is dropped using a high wattage resistor or a heater which has no use. In this project we have included the slip voltage recovery system, Where the slip voltage is used to charge a Battery, so that the battery can be used at later time.
Operation:
The voltage outputs from the induction motor is first rectified and is controlled using IGBT section. The speed can be varied by applying the PWM Pulses to the IGBT Section from the PIC Microcontroller. The voltage drop at the output side is given as a input to the Battery for charging.

This time I just soldered a wire to the 'DIM' pin (otherwise floating) and connected that straight to one PWM output.
