Henry is a previously abandoned 'rescue cat' white kitty who has had a very difficult start to his life with a very long story behind his circumstances.
Henry was rescued, rehomed and adopted into the Axe household on December 27th 2024.
Henry is now completely safe in his new forever home and he doesn't need to worry about a thing anymore.

Just too good to miss. Plus today I found some Calla Lilies that hadn't suffered in the rain. They looked good.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.
Some huge peonies that are planted next to the garage.. the blossoms are so large the stems can hardly hold them up... Still playing around with my HP camera...

Dear Flickr Friends, I try not to share too many images of my beautiful pooch as it would turn into a private stream of personal images and I'm sure you don't want your photo stream full of my Daisy Dog :) but today is our Daisies 1st Birthday, so I have indulged in three gorgeous images I took of her yesterday, one including her with a new and very big Yaker Bone for which she is very proud and has carried it everywhere, dropping it at our feet with a show of pride and happiness and thanking us with tail wags and kiss licks. Have a fabulous Saturday and now its times to bake some peanut and cheese cookies for my beautiful Daisy :)))))

A scene such as this is often unnoticed and I've always walked by without a second glance but for some reason this one appealed to me as the fleece was blowing in the wind.
Such a common sight in the countryside don't you think?

I am once again back to grabbing a few photos from my archives. If I wrote a description under a previously posted photo, I will add it under these latest uploads.
"Back in the inter of 2014/2015, for two or three weeks, I had been longing to get out there, especially to the E and NE of the city, to look for these spectacular birds of prey. I finally got out, after my youngest daughter asked if I wanted to go looking for Snowies on our Christmas get-together on 20 December 2014. She had never seen a Snowy Owl, so I was really, really hoping that we'd find one! As it turned out, we saw 10 definite individuals, plus two others that we weren't quite sure about - one certainly looked like a very distant Snowy and the other was possibly a repeat of an owl we had seen earlier in more or less the same area.
Part way through the day, almost as if it were meant to happen, a car came from the opposite direction - it was my friends, Cathy and Terry! For the rest of our trip, we followed behind them, thoroughly enjoying every new find. Late afternoon, we went home different ways and my daughter and I saw our last two owls. My daughter was so thrilled to see these breathtaking birds and was quite happy and content after seeing the very first, distant one. Three of the owls gave us close or reasonably close views, the rest were very distant. The owl in this photo is a male, as it is almost pure white.
After these wonderful sightings, we returned to Calgary and went back to my daughter's place to exchange Christmas gifts. I reckon the Snowy Owls were the "best" gifts she received that day : )
Yesterday, 1 January 2015, was the 22nd (?) annual Fish Creek Park New Year's Day Bird Count. I ended up with photos of just three birds - a Black-capped Chickadee, a Great Horned Owl and a female Three-toed Woodpecker. Am meeting up with a different group of friends this morning in the same area, and hoping that we might just be lucky enough to find the tiny Northern Pygmy-owl this time. That's the only reason I am up so early this morning!"
"Trumpeter with Turned Head" by Patti Deters. This pure white Trumpeter Swan (Cygnus buccinator) swims along and has her head turned in profile to the camera as if posing for a portrait. Her long neck and white feathers contrast with her black beak and eye, making this waterfowl one of the most beautiful. These graceful birds like to overwinter in open water and can be found throughout Minnesota at any time of the year. This small and pure white fungus in our garden could be a Hemimycena lactea or cucullata. Hemimycena is a genus of fungi in the family Mycenaceae.
