From Jaipur. I really enjoyed the puppet show here. It was really entertaining and not at all childish.
Actors Equity requires mandatory breaks every two hours. Here the cast enjoys some time off between scenes.

I've made this for my daughter.
I even wrote a pattern: sestrenki.blogspot.com/2011/12/crochet-finger-puppets-gir...
Grandma thrills Laurel with her favorite puppet, a gift box with mice in it. Laurel calls it "open open open!". Photo taken at my parents' house in Evergreen, CO.
Ok, this is my least favorite Homie that i have. I've always thought this guy was supposed to be a crack baby, or maybe he has some kind of birth defect where he's missing the bones in his legs or something. But i guess he is supposed to be a puppet, which really is just as weird as my initial guesses.

I'm not saying he's the long lost child of Alf and Red Fraggle... but I'm not denying it either.
Three beautiful wood carvings of women caught my eye in a storefront on Throckmorton Ave. They could be used as puppets, with moveable arms and heads, and are really artfully done. They are nice inspirations for the poetic robots I would like to build next. I hope we can do something similar with our next characters, once we’ve mastered the art of moving wonder ducks like Indigo, as shown in this video of his first 'baby steps': www.facebook.com/fabrice.florin/videos/10156226465115506/
In the next few days, I would like to build a few more Wonderbots and see how they behave when when they are brought together in the same space. Then we'll add a storyline, a backdrop, more lights and sounds, with impromptu dialog and music. I can’t wait to see them interact with each other. Stay tuned …

My seven, almost eight year old daughter, Finn and I made this little puppet theatre for a birthday present for her friend.
It has a little battery operated light in the roof and a wind up music maker from a toy jewellry box screwed onto the side.
We had lots of fun making this for her, and we also made a mix tape for her with all Finn's favourite music on it.
Puppet mask, from a great event: Off Center Arts, Albuquerque, NM. This was a larger than life-size head, really pretty huge. A great event.
i made a few "muppet"-style hand puppets to see how to do it. quite fun. but now they sit in a box under my desk...

Took this photo just before NYE while setting up for a party (Indo/Bali Party). These Puppets are from Indonesia, there name is Wayang golek (rod puppets). Not to sure what this character is. They looked very good lined up on the Banana Tree that we cut down just for them. I think there was about 20 of them all up.
Anyway Happy New Year to all my Flickr Friends.

I'd never fancied myself a shadow puppet show designer, but a friend asked me to build one for The Heist Project, so I did.
This shadow puppet show is called "The Horse and his Shadow"
Each puppet has 2 movable limbs.
This traditional Sundanese puppet was made by an unnamed master puppet maker sometime in the first half of the 20th century. It is noted as being made for the Mahabharata epic, representing Ardjuna. The body of the puppet is carved from wood and painted; the costume is sewn from cloth and embroidered.
