Fishing buddy Josh taking a break to appreciate the beautiful surroundings at Ascension Bay (Mexico).
One of the more peculiar fish we encountered while exploring the reefs of the Sian Ka'an was the Shortnose Batfish. Again the fading evening light, depth, and no flash forced me to use a very shallow depth of field but his bright red lips were too much to pass up. Looks a bit like a sad clown to me!
We would like to present hand painted oil on canvas painting (recreation) of Afremov's artwork mentioned in the title. This art piece made by Leonid Afremov Studio with the same amount of soul and emotion just like the first original painting. The piece is created with oil paint on artistic canvas using Afremov's unique technique of a palette knife.

Just before sunset as we were headed back to shore after a good six plus hour snorkeling session I happened to notice a small colony of Banded Jawfish at a depth of around 10ft. With the fading natural light I managed to click off a few shots of the little buggers but didn't think much more of them until I downloaded my pictures and noticed tiny eyes peering out from the Jawfish's mouth! It ends up this is a male incubating a clutch of eggs just about ready to hatch.
Certainly not the greatest shot but a neat observation to be sure!
Taken from a boat. The fast shutter speed stopped movement, but ISO800 was chosen due to the gloomy location in mangroves.

Atardecer en la playa al sur de Tulum, donde pequeños hoteles de bungalows se suceden uno tras otro. Al final de esta inmensa playa está la ciudad de Punta Allen.
Sunset in the beach south of Tulum, where small hotels with bungalows come after one another. At the end of this huge beach there's the city of Punta Allen
I first ID'd this as a Turkey vulture thru my ignorance and the often made mistake of assumptions.
