Today's cranberry beds are constructed in upland areas with a shallow water table. The topsoil is scraped off to form dykes around the bed perimeter. Clean sand is hauled into a depth of four to eight inches. The surface is laser leveled flat to provide even drainage. In addition to making it possible to hold water, the dykes allow equipment to service the beds without driving on the vines. The beds are flooded with six to eight inches of water above the vines. A harvester is driven through the beds to remove the fruit from the vines. Harvested cranberries float in the water and can be corralled into a corner of the bed and conveyed or pumped from the bed. From the farm, cranberries are taken to receiving stations where they are cleaned, sorted, and stored prior to packaging or processing.

Had a 366 shot in place and actually saw this yesterday but just had to go back and photograph it, first time I have seen a fork lift next to an old petrol pump and probably will never see it again.
I was really taken by this garden as I strolled up the road with my dog, I especially loved the old water pump in amougst the flora and greenery.
The water pump is a 5 bolt Japanese unit of unknown source.(suspect Datsun)

The water pump housing is also the bracket / housing for the dry sump oil pump.
The housing also has drillings for oil temperature and oil pressure.
One toothed belt is used to drive both pumps.
No alternator is used on the engine, battery power only.
This hut must have been something to do with the swing bridge at goole , seems a bit small to be the pump house ,,,,,so answers on a postcard please
The historic pump house along Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive was used when the property was farmland and the district has used the pumps to help maintain water levels in the wetlands.
