I found some old gas pumps not long from were I live and decided to make a HDR. Turned out pretty cool.
I remember playing one of these at my grandparent's house. Keeping the pedals moving to pump the air and playing at the same time!

After eight years and close to 10,000 cups of coffee the pump gave out. It's at lower right. It's just a solenoid with a valve on one end. The pump part was fine but the check valve, made of nylon, broke. I didn't see any good way to repair or replace just the valve so I put in a new pump.

This pump, no longer in service, sits off the main road through New Edinburg, Arkansas. An idea of when the pump was last used, the digits are stopped at .44 gallon.

This green and white beauty is a Dino Sinclair brand gas pump. I found these gorgeous old gas pumps on our travels to Standish, ME to visit our daughter at college on the Sebago Lake at St. Jo's.
My Sentinel has an unusual brake servo system fitted.
Brake fluid is stored in a large capacity master cylinder reservoir. The fluid is fed by gravity to a gearbox driven pump.
The pump supplies fluid to the servo cylinder which is mounted on the front of the master cylinder. Whilst the lorry is moving the fluid is continuously pumped around the system under no pressure. When the brakes are applied, pressure builds up in the front part of the master cylinder and assists the driver footbrake pressure.
The system was used by other manufacturers at the time but was deemed unsuccessful and superseded by the vacuum servo system. As you can see, my pump is a bit grotty but it all cleaned up OK and works fine.

This old treasure is loving cared for by Ralph, Lynn and Chris. The property is part of the James River Park System. It was built long ago to supply water for the fire hydrants in Richmond. It is a beautiful building.
A slowly changing light on the trees (and the small house in the background to the right). The installation is inspired by Orpheus and Eurydice, a tragic love story from Greek mythology. When Eurydice died from a snakebite, Orpheus descended into the underworld of Hades, to recover his lost wife.
It is one of the temporary light installations during the event "Lights in Alingsås 2024" – the theme of the year is "The Magical World of Mythology".
Alingsås Municipality organises the event Lights in Alingsås every autumn. Since 2000 the municipality has worked with the PLDA (Professional Lighting Designers´ Association). Every year in september/october leading international lighting designers come to Alingsås to hold a week´s workshop with participants from all over the world. Together they light a number of buildings and locations around the town centre. Around 70,000 people come every year to see the designs during the month-long event.

I realized my camera can go places I can't. It just takes a few tries to get the right angle. :)
This was taken before I got the power head installed, to give me more confidence in the U-siphons. Once that was in, I pulled the grow box standpipes, turned the pump off, and let everything drain into the sump, then filled it up to within about 3 inches of the top, and restarted everything. That way I know there's no more water in the system than the sump can handle, even if everything drains at once.
