Potato Project. Volunteers are pulling up small, young, brand new plants nurtured to this stage. Soon they will be planted in order to grow up to be full-sized potato plants.
Bisket Jatra is an 8 day festival celebrating the Nepali New Year in the town of Bhaktapur. This is a very old festival that features crowds, colour and celebration. The highlight is the pulling of the two wooden chariots and the destruction of a large wooden pole.
Today we bought a tree.
Tomorrow we buy a new school tie.
Still cheaper than a taxi.
I don't think that we will be using the box again though. Have to get one of those Christmas tree storage bags.
Yesterday I pulled weeds in the cactus garden, which didn't take too long, but I also pulled weeds in that section to the left of the garage. It is a vegetable garden so I didn't want to use any sort of herbicide. My fingers are so sore and my butt definitely got a workout bending and squatting. I almost couldn't get out of bed. LOL But back today to do more. The guys are inside painting, but I like being outside.
For a whole month (from 27 May to 26 June) we worked at our workshop in Hebden Bridge (UK) with local community, guests of the festival and other artists, providing people with cardboard and ideas!
26th June Personages of Cadboardia (along the Tyran and Ministers) marched through the town, as a part of Handmade Parade, named “Muck In!” as a way to celebrate strength of this amazing community that pulled it together after the last year’s flood.

I walk past Pulls Ferry on the way to work (either side of the River Wensum, depending on what route I take!)
Pulls Ferry is located on the River Wensum and is one of the most famous landmarks in Norwich, Norfolk. It is a flint building and was once a 15th Century watergate. It was the route for the stone used to build Norwich Cathedral. The stone came from France up the rivers Yare and Wensum. A canal, specifically built by the monks, used to run under the arch, where the Normans ferried the stone and building materials to be unloaded on the spot.
The Kiddie Tractor Pull is held about half way thru the main event. The nice thing about this is all children recieve a trouphy and the end of their secound pull. There is no entrant fee and all trouphys are donated by the tractor club.
Great for zippers, backpacks, and purses.
This zipper pull is made on a 10oz piece of tooling leather. I tooled an image of a rose bud on it. I then painted the background a dark purple, almost black. I also painted the rose bud red and green.
This zipper pull is a 1" circle. Zipper pull is on a beaded keychain.
