A hefty piece of the show is the over sized time tunnel. Brian devised a way to build and collapse the structure, to be able to take it on the road.
Here Brian looks like he's being pulled into the centrifuge.
9.30 -- photo by Christopher Suslow-- The 2017 Plane Pull was the biggest yet! More than 50 teams took to the tarmac at Newark Liberty International Airport on September 30 to test their strength and see if they could move a 93,000 pound Boeing 737. The event blew all expectations out of the water, raising more than $200,000! This year's Plane Pull was hosted by The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and United Airlines, and supported by the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey.
This was a great year for our annual family tradition we like to call Santana Claus
Basically we gather money from family and friends throughout the year and buy small toys for children. I then dress up as Santana Claus and load up the family and boxes of toys and drive around neighborhoods where kids live who could use a little Christmas spirit and fun.
This year we were able to donate 194 toys along with candy canes and Santa hats. My wife Yoleris and I came up with the idea after moving away from the neighborhood years ago. We were fortunate enough to move to a nicer neighborhood , own a home and raise a great family together but we never forgot where we came from.
About 4 years ago we decided to buy some toys on clearance, wrap them and drive around the old neighborhood and pass them out. After two years of doing that I decided to put on a Santa costume and drive around handing out toys, then Santana Claus was born!
Our routes are never the same and surprise and randomness is what helps it keep it extra special. When we spot children playing outside we pull over, hop on out and spread the Christmas Spirit!

I saw a video of pull string art with paint, tried it myself and then thought I'd give it a shot with clay. I used iron oxide to bring out the design. I think it came out pretty good. It looks a bit like a fossil.
While it is attractive to assemble a pulled pork sandwich this way, it doesn't work. You really need the pork directly ON the bread, otherwise the juices end up all over your hands, face, shirt and pants. Okay, they end up all over you no matter what, but it's worse with a lettuce barrier stopping the absorbent bread from doing it's magic.

When I took this picture the sandwich looked about five shades of disgusting. Now it actually looks extremely delicious. Too bad I don't eat them anymore. So sad.

Earlier, I had visited "Maya". "Mayita" is a newer sister restaurant and I popped in with a mate for lunch.
Drowned in tomato sauce, again never a first pick if I am to pick a dish for myself, the pulled pork filling was amazingly pork floss like - all fluffy and 'cotton wool'-like and I love this excruciating intriguing contrast of texture, against the starchy enchilada (corn tortilla).
Ironically, 20 minutes earlier, a fresh hog was being pulled in on a flat wagon by two southernly gentlemen.
