A day of mixed fogs and sun.
In the event, we had a bit of light rain at evening--the first we've seen since last spring. Any moisture is welcome, even as fog. The fogs do a great deal to water plants on the west coast, in the absence of true rain, during the dry season.
I got Lisa's attention by puffing her with a rubber lens blower; she's become used to my kazoo music, no matter how hard or melodious I play. She's sitting in the bay window in my living room. The polarizing filter that I frequently use gave the sky a deep blue tone.
Puff-throated Babbler is an attractive species. We were able to watch a number of these birds foraging by turning over leaves. This was while we sat inside a hide (blind) near Kaeng Krachan National Park in Phetchaburi province, Thailand.
With many thanks to those who commented on the other image, I present an edit of the previous scene. I think it works well like this. My eye is drawn to my areas of hamfisted cloning though, but all in all they are okay.
Definitely need to put a zoom lens on the shopping list. I did actually only shoot this at 33mm, so could have zoom more with the lens I had on the day.

401) Puff Throated Babbler
Puff-Throated Babbler, Spotted Babbler, Pellorneum ruficeps, Rimba Bintik-bintik
They are found in scrub and moist forest mainly in hilly regions. They forage in small groups on the forest floor, turning around leaf litter to find their prey and usually staying low in the undergrowth where they can be hard to spot. They however have loud and distinct calls, including a morning song, contact and alarm calls. Totally protected species in Peninsular Malaysia.
I have a couple more Puffin shots to add to the collection, I would have liked to have got more in focus :) however it was somewhat tricky in the little rocking boat!
Wilbur peeks over one of the rock formations that appears to be an enormous Puff Pastry in the Ah-shi-sle-pah Wilderness in New Mexico.
