Reflections on a puddle
One must have a reason for reflection
an eye to admire variations.
And only so many days can fulfill a day
in which one can be
close to that April sky
with sight of it beneath.
This requires an understanding
a reason without, an inward nature,
a spontaneous glance.

Immerhin hatte ich 2 Stunden regenfreie Zeit. Beim nächsten Mal wird's bestimmt besser...

just another puddle reflection shot captured at the Crown Fountains in Millenium Park in Chicago...i was actually on my way over to the Bean for the lights show last February and decided to stop by the fountains for some twilight shots...i really like shooting long exposure images at very odd angles as this usually gives the viewer a unique and different look at something that people see and walk by everyday...hope you all have a great night...pls. The 'Mozes en Aäronkerk' Church at the Waterlooplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle.
Shot with a SonyEricsson S700i mobile phone cam. No editing (I might have added some contrast&saturation, but I don't remember), no Photoshop, no tricks :)
This photo made it to the Flickr 'Explore' page, yay!
Today I decided to take my 'real' cam for a spin in the mean streets of the best city in the world, knowing that there are puddles and sunshine outside, and this was the first puddle I stopped at, drooling from the idea of finally getting some hi-res quality reflection shots...but when I turned on the cam it said 'Internal memory full'....stoopid me, I forgot the memory card at home, inside my PC :D
Since I've been planning on buying a new SDHC card anyway, I figured I'll just take this opportunity to go and get one, but then it turned out I was way too lazy to go to the shop and come back, so I whipped out Mobie and shot this wicked reflection old school style, and as you can see, Mobie still rules :))
Have a nice, sunny weekend!
P.s. As you might have noticed, lately I'm just repeating myself, taking the same pics I took one year ago around this time, I hope that doesn't bother you too much, hehe ;-P
Here's the twin shot from last year!

Wholesales parking lot, busy at night, deserted by day.
Not only fresh fruit, but also nice puddles and architecture.
Europe, Portugal, Lisboa, Chado, Elevador de Santa Justa, Convento do Carmo (uncut)
Shot at the top deck of the Elevador de Santa Justa looking towards the Comvento do Carmo - a rainy but lovely March afternoon in Lisbon.
The 'Santa Justa' lift was inaugurated on the 10th July 1902 and it is the only vertical lift in Lisbon for public service. It was built by the architect Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard and has a cast iron structure, enriched with filigree details. In 2002 it was classified as a National Monument. From: www.carris.pt.

This is the Amstel Hotel, one of the finest Hotels in Europe, Mick Jagger and Brad Pitt have stayed there (not together though, haha)!
"Blowhard hut was originally built for tourism, by the Victorian Tourist Board. As time went by, skiing became a greater passion and it was converted for this use.
Today, the hut is locked." " Built with corrugated iron walls and roof. The roof has a high gable and an unusually large skillion. Extended in the 1980s."

Puddle reflection in Gastown.
Harbour Centre is a notable skyscraper in the central business district of Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The "Lookout" tower atop the office building makes it one of the tallest structures in Vancouver and a prominent landmark on the city's skyline. With its 360-degree viewing deck, it also serves as a tourist attraction, offering a physically unobstructed view of the city.

Enjour your evening and thanks for visiting.
Puddle reflection of a car swooshing by while I was trying to do the wicked reflection thing with some buildings :)
Trees and a biker biking into the sunset, reflected in a puddle, of course in the best city in the world :)
Colors and saturation are a bit edited but otherwise it's a natural shot!
The beginning of the Haarlemmerstraat, reflected in a puddle...I was doing my wicked thing this morning, making the best use of the puddles from last nights rain, and todays sunrise, happily reflecting away when the Police came...!!!! and asked me what I was doing!!!
After my initial horror, shock&awe, I managed to blurt out 'I'm taking photos'...the older cop said 'Uh-huh, taking photos...in a puddle?!' so I walked over to show the MoFo that I was REALLY kneeling in front of a puddle because I'm shooting reflections...
He liked the shots and let me go without arresting me for not having my bike-lamps on (Ok, it was broad day light, but such details usually don't stop our fine force from ticketing you anyway, this weekend a guy got a 75 euro fine for falling asleep on a park bench...and he was a respectable, yet sleepy citizen, not a bum!)...
The copper told me he thought I was scooping up&drinking water from the puddle (with my freakin' mobile phone?!) and I asked him 'What IF I'd been drinking from the puddle? I don't think that's illegal!'...he just mumbled something to himself, speeding off in his car to get donuts, ehm, sorry, to serve&protect this city from scum like myself...and he was in such a hurry to get away that he didn't even see the bum sleeping in a door-way right next to his car ;-P
So, how was your monday?! :-))
P.s. This wicked Reflection is dedicated to Marta :))
P.p.s. Twin shot, one year later :))

It's been rather wet in London today. Constant thunderstorms and heavy rain. Typical August weather really!
Project 365 - 225/365
Unedited mobile phone cam shot. I might have added some contrast, but I don't remember :)
Yes, I really like that building, and it looks even mightier in a puddle :)
Same puddle, one year later!
Finally I have a selfie with puddle reflection! Ha! I shot this photo by myself tonight after the July 4th fireworks show. lol :D
Unedited puddle reflection of a dude in downtown Amsterdam.
This shot has been resized and is otherwise undedited, no Photoshop, no tricks, just a mobile and a wicked puddle, as usual (except that this time I didn't even add a bit of saturation&contrast, so not really as usual) :))
The dark person reminded me of those iPod commercials&their spoofs from a while ago, I've posted one below in the comments to show you what I mean :)
Have a relaxing weekend!
At the left of this photo a purpose-built shed and an agricultural pig shelter combine to form the building that has affectionately been dubbed the "Paradise Palladium Theatre". (The local pub is on the right).
It is located in Morundah; the smallest town in the smallest shire (by population) in New South Wales.
With a population of about 15, Morundah has hosted many operas and other events at this venue since 2006, the first of which was two sold-out performances of Bizet's Carmen by Opera Australia's Oz Opera. Over one thousand guests attended the black tie event including the Governor of NSW, Marie Bashir.
Since then, the theatre has been the setting for equally well patronised performances of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte by the Victorian Opera, Puccini’s Madame Butterfly by Oz Opera, “A Gala Night at the Opera”, The Marriage of Figaro performed by the South Australian Opera Company, “Opera to Broadway” by the Victorian Opera, “La Traviata” (Oz Opera), and Die Fledermaus performed by Co-opera from SA.
Three-day educational workshops for up to 75 children from the district have twice been run by Richard Gill, OAM, Musical Director of the Victorian Opera, teaching the children about music, history, movement and more.
The Morundah Bush Entertainment Committee and the venue have both won numerous awards and nominations in recognition of the successes achieved here in this tiny town.

A reflection of the Capitol in a puddle. This was something I had seen before walking by the Capitol but didn't have my camera. I had to wait until another rainy day and then hurry down there to get the shot. I got a few odd glances from the guards there but no one bothered me otherwise.

"The Bolte Bridge is a large twin Cantilever bridge in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It spans the Yarra River and Victoria Harbour in the Docklands precinct to the west of the Melbourne CBD. It forms part of the CityLink system of toll roads that connects the Tullamarine Freeway from the northern suburbs with the West Gate Freeway and the Domain and Burnley tunnels to the Monash Freeway and the south eastern suburbs.
The bridge was designed by architects Denton Corker Marshall and was built for head contractor Transurban by Baulderstone Hornibrook, construction taking three years from 1996 to 1999 and costing $75 million. It was named by Jeff Kennett, for former Premier of Victoria, Sir Henry Bolte because of its linking the West Gate, Monash and Tullamarine Freeways - projects commissioned or completed by the Bolte Government.
It is one of the largest balanced cantilever cast in situ box girder bridges in Australia. The superstructure is built as two independent bridges of variable depth, prestressed concrete box girders, separated by a 1.15 m clear gap between the structures.
The bridge features two 90 metre (295.2 ft)[1] high silver towers, situated on either side of the roadway at the midpoint of the bridge's span. These two towers are an aesthetic addition by the architects, and are not joined to the main body of the bridge.[1] These towers are hollow, and feature access ladders to a small roof top hatch. Until locked and surrounded by water, these towers were a popular target for urban explorers. It has four spans with two main spans of 173 metres (567.6 ft) and side spans of 72 metres (236.2 ft), giving an overall bridge length of 490 metres (1,607.6 ft). The bridge supports six lanes of automobile traffic. Access is prohibited to cyclists and pedestrians.
Other bridges in Australia of similar construction are the Gateway Bridge, Brisbane and Mooney Mooney Bridge near Gosford, north of Sydney."
