Last week, a news website asked me if they could use one of my pictures to go w/their lead story for the day. I wonder if that means I can say I'm a pulished photographer now? ;~)

I’ve avoided collecting small-scale maps but this is the best map in my collection … it’s a work of art. Every feature was hand-engraved onto a copper plate, in reverse. There’s a slightly odd cartographic mystery on sheet 11. If you look in the south eastern corner, below Southsea and Hayling Island, the neat line (map border) isn’t present. It is as if the finely engraved lines representing the sea have been allowed to spill out of the map slightly. There seems to be no cogent reason for it …

Zum 26. BärGiDa-Aufmarsch versammelten sich am 29.06.2015 ca. 120 Rassist_innen am Berliner Hauptbahnhof zur ihrer montäglichen Auftakt-Kundgebung. Anschließend führte die Route des Aufmarsches durch das östliche Moabit und durch das Hansaviertel hin zum S-Bhf. Tiergarten. Im Moabiter Kiez um die Flemingstr., Melanchthonstr. und Calvinstr. waren die Anwohner_innen teilweise fassungslos über das Auftauchen der Bärgida-Rasssist_innen. Spontan entwickelten sich dann lautstarke Proteste gegen Bärgida. Immer wieder wurden protestierende Menschen, aus dem rassistischen Aufmarsch heraus, auf das übelste beschimpft und bedroht. Auch diesmal wurde Bärgida von den extrem rechten "Nazi-Hools", NPDler_innen, Anhänger_innen von Pro-Deutschland, den Identitären/Berlin/Brandenburg, German Defense League/Division Berlin und Personen aus dem Umfeld des Internet-Blog pi-news geprägt. Eine antifaschistische Gegendemo mit ca. 300 Teilnehmer_innen begann in unmittelbarer Nähe des U-Bhf. Turmstr. und führte zum Hauptbahnhof. Das erklärte Ziel dieser Demo, Bärgida den Weg nach Moabit zu versperren, konnte diesmal nicht umgesetzt werden.
