A couple of days ago I posted an image of a cloth vendor in the Holland Village street market in Singapore in 1968, noting that psychedelic patterns didn't feature in his product range.
This image, taken nearby (note the same/similar green and white check pattern in the background) on the same day shows that psychedelia had definitely arrived in Singapore - to the fascination of at least me and my sisters!
What appears to be a more successful vendor (he has a table, awning and finished products) is offering a much more vivid and wider range of styles and patterns in addition to some ready-to-wear clothing. Hanging up behind the vendor appears to be a very colourful line of waistcoats, several of which seem to feature large goldfish (in orange, red, black and blue variants!).
The boy in the lower right of the image is waving what appears to be a very decorative pink bull. I assume it was actually intended to be associated with a Hindu festival...
Scanned from a slide.
2 mental notes.
Next time i fire my flash 15 times in 30 seconds, wear sunglasses. I wasn't looking directly at it but i still feel all weird.
And use a cleaner dvd next time with water drops that don't move slightly!
*No photoshop work on the colours. Only used photoshop to sharpen it up a bit since the drops moved during the long exposure*
With these psychedelic magic mushrooms you’ll see ,hear ,feel and float through the rainbow.

I've seen so many wonderful abstract soap film photos on Flickr they inspired me to experiment with it myself. A stormy, hot, humid, summer Sunday afternoon seemed like the perfect time - except I wasn't really prepared, so I improvised. Dish soap, plus honey, plus a black plastic lined coffee cup, plus tripod and shutter release cable - and a variety of locations (dining room table, patio table, coffee table) until the light was right and soapy honey was spread liberally over furniture, camera and dog. It's quite addicting watching the colors swirl in the viewfinder like a crazy liquid kaleidoscope.
