This is dedicated to my love for the season of autumn, which brings forth the most exciting colors in nature. GIFTED
August of 1967
Morristown, New Jersey, USA
I was home for the summer, my last time living at home, to paint my parent's house. It was an interesting summer. It was becomming increasingly obvious that we were living on two different planets. I would paint all day and after my parents went to bed, I would get stoned and listen to Ravi Shankar or Jimi Hendricks or whatever and dance across the void. Buddha was my companion. Buddha was given to me by my girl friend, Linda who lived across the street, a beautiful, special human being. Her mother hated me and in retrospect, she was right: I was trouble!
I had been introduced to Buddhism by my friend Donald at the Univ. of Maine in 1963. He was two doors down the hall from me in the freshman dorm. He had a 7 inch reel to reel tape recorder and lots of tapes of music. His main interest was Jazz while mine was Folk. We traded music and both enjoyed learning of new things. He was an Oriental Philosophy major and had an extensive library of Taoist and Zen books. I devoured his library hungrily, much to the detriment of my own studies. In the winter of 1967 I had shared an apartment with him in Boston where I met my friend George.
I think it was around this time that we found out we were "hippies". I remember discussing it with my friends. It seems that someone at Time magazine decided that we needed a name, an identity. At the time it seemed exactly what we didn't need.
Later that summer I drove a mototcycle down to Philadelphia for my cousin Larry and stayed. That was the beginning of many years of the Philadelphia Experiences.
In the years that followed, Buddha has always had a special place both physically and mentally in my life.
You have to be very careful walking, because the psychedelic glasses can give hard dizziness, but they are pretty cool.
Yeah, I've tried them, it's not a joke or a photographic trick, 72 differents faces on the superfice of crystal lens with differen tone lights
My weekly psychedelic journey through an IMO style carwash, which usually begins with a tall dark haired man of Eastern European descent taking £5 from me.

From LANYARDLADY's favorite decade, the '70s, comes a lanyard necklace that's funky, fabulous and psychedelic!
My inspiration bead was a brilliant polymer clay disk that shimmers with lime green, purple, yellow, orange, aqua, pink and black for spring. It has a different colorful design on each side.
I used assorted druks, cats eye pearls and coins, and faceted crystals in aqua, orange and purple. There are also sparkling hyacinth Swarovski crystal bicones and assorted silver metal spacers. The chain is assorted pony beads in lime, yellow, orange, black, aqua and purple. They are spaced with antique gold seed beads.
