Red Squirrel (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus)
This groovy squirrel got his hands on a tasty mushroom. There is a resemblance to the psilocybin mushrooms that are commonly known as Magic Mushrooms. Although I am sure it is just a healthy dose of fungus, it makes me wonder what would happen to a hyperactive neurotic little rodent if it were to ingest magic mushrooms? In my mind, a relaxed philosophical discussion on the nature of existence with the ducks on the other side of the park.
I really don't want to sound 'big headed' here, but I keep looking at this photo and thinking "Wow! Did I really take this...?"
Does that make sense to anybody else...?

A couple of days ago I posted an image of a cloth vendor in the Holland Village street market in Singapore in 1968, noting that psychedelic patterns didn't feature in his product range.
This image, taken nearby (note the same/similar green and white check pattern in the background) on the same day shows that psychedelia had definitely arrived in Singapore - to the fascination of at least me and my sisters!
What appears to be a more successful vendor (he has a table, awning and finished products) is offering a much more vivid and wider range of styles and patterns in addition to some ready-to-wear clothing. Hanging up behind the vendor appears to be a very colourful line of waistcoats, several of which seem to feature large goldfish (in orange, red, black and blue variants!).
The boy in the lower right of the image is waving what appears to be a very decorative pink bull. I assume it was actually intended to be associated with a Hindu festival...
Scanned from a slide.
2 mental notes.
Next time i fire my flash 15 times in 30 seconds, wear sunglasses. I wasn't looking directly at it but i still feel all weird.
And use a cleaner dvd next time with water drops that don't move slightly!
*No photoshop work on the colours. Only used photoshop to sharpen it up a bit since the drops moved during the long exposure*
The dots of this moth larva (Cucullia verbasci, Noctuidae) are quite curious. My daughter has find the Mickey Mouse head in...

I think I need to purchase about 200 of these psychedelic glass-mosaic cups and strategically arrange them out of the depth of field of any photo I take to make for some interesting bokeh arrangements.. What else could I possibly do with 200 cups when not using them for photography purposes? I only have so much change after the hobby of photography robbed me of everything that I am worth!!
