The creature is blind yet it’s hearing and sense of smell are far more acute than any other mortal creature. It can feel the heartbeat of any living being within 40 km and can it’s prey track via smell alone for up to 4 months.

It lives primarily in the deepest underground regions and uses echolocation to navigate the caverns where it lives; However it is able to completely map out a Matoran City just by emitting one sonar wave.

It is the undisputed master of stealth in the dark: It can sometimes pounce too fast for the human eye to detect. It can use it’s sharp claws to cling to walls and also can sense vibrations through them.

Over the centuries there has never been more than one Wolfbat seen at once. This led many to believe this creature was a sort of Bogeyman; in that it was a supernatural creature bringing bad omens. The truth is that this being is nothing than an innocent animal and that there are far worse predators roaming around out in the dark.
