Proverbs 16 is full of wise advice,
Guiding us all to be kind and nice.
Pride comes before a fall, so they say,
But a humble heart paves the righteous way.
Better to be patient than hasty,
For wisdom and understanding are tasty.
If you plan your steps, you'll achieve your goals,
But don't forget to listen to others' souls.
A gentle answer will calm a quarrel,
And a kind word will make sadness throttle.
Trust in the Lord, and all will be well,
For his plans for us are good, can't you tell?
So let us follow these words of old,
And let them shape us, make us bold.
For the path of the righteous is clear,
And in all we do, let us draw near.
Listen closely to my words,
Wisdom's voice is what you've heard.
Treasure my teachings, hold them dear,
And they will guide you throughout the year.
For they are life to those who find,
And health to all their flesh and mind.
Guard your heart with all your might,
For it is the wellspring of your life's light.
Ponder the path of your feet,
Let it be straight, let it be neat.
Avoid the wicked, their ways forsake,
And on the right path, your steps you'll take.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your path less grim.
Forsake not wisdom, keep it near,
And your path will be straight and clear.
