"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established." Proverbs 16:3

Sat on this bench tonight near Mirror Lake.

Today in class we had a case study about cirque du soleil employees. They are called "artists" They do what they love while traveling around the world.

I sat there and wondered what everyone has wondered. "What am I doing and Why?"

Some plans are not certain but as long as you do it for the right reasons, commit to the Lord, all is well and He will take care of you.

Okay, I'm tired. Time to sleep. Wish I could type more. PZ

"The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day."

Proverbs 4:23,26

"Keep your heart with all dilgence... Ponder the path of your feet."

This detail shows a part of the vertical midseam. The vertically oriented pieces are cut very tight with only 1mm between the surrounding horizontal knobs. Look at the bottom piece (barely shown here).

At least 10 pieces were almost broken in half and will need protection when I eventually take the puzzle apart.

My thoughts

movement from the inside out

they define me

they are mine and only mine

no one knows them

no one can steal them

no one can stop them

they are what makes me,

me.

My thoughts are

my own beliefs

my own inspirations

my own followings

they are something

that can be kept private

or

made known for all the world to think

Thoughts are power

and with my power,

I can accomplish anything

Proverbs 23:6~8 Do not take the food of him who has an evil eye, or have any desire for his delicate meat:For as the thoughts of his heart are, so is he: Take food and drink, he says to you; but his heart is not with you.The food which you have taken will come up again, and your pleasing words will be wasted.

Proverbs 16:9

A man's heart plans his ways, but the Lord directs his steps.

Proverbs 19:27 (MSG)

If you quit listening, dear child, and strike off on your own, you'll soon be out of your depth.

DRAWING NOTES:

TIME OF DAY:

Not specified in Bible reference; daytime.

LIGHTING NOTES:

Sunlight, coming from the left, is the main source of lighting in this scene.

CHARACTERS PRESENT:

A woman on the right of the scene is standing next to a sign (which represents knowledge).

A man starting to walk away from the woman & sign, with his eyes closed, not looking where he is going. He represents a person beginning to stray away from knowledge.

RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:

This is my very literal version of the proverb. Clearly the man is heading into trouble, as he has not noticed the cliff edge & deep water below it which he is stepping towards! Another visual clue that he is heading into trouble is the approaching rain storm from the left.

I have used brush textures on the woman’s dress, which is something I haven’t done before. You may be able to make out a cross pattern on the waist part & hems of her dress.

I took some photographs whilst on a holiday in County Durham. The cliff rock is actually a small piece of rock I photographed on a walk!

The problem with not listening to instruction is that a person is then not longer learning. That’s what Proverbs 19:20 (only a few verses earlier) states: “Listen to advice and accept correction, and in the end you will be wise.” Clearly becoming wise & remaining wise is not a state that you arrive at; rather it is an on-going condition. We need to continue to gain knowledge & experience, which increase our wisdom.

Interestingly, Proverbs 19:27 is the only place between Proverbs 7:1 & 23:15 where the words “my son” occur.

Bible References.

Here are some other Bible versions of this particular Proverb, which gives a slightly different emphasis on it:

Proverbs 19:27 (NLT)

If you stop listening to instruction, my child, you will turn your back on knowledge.

Proverbs 19:27 (ANIV)

27 Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.

Proverbs 19:27 (BBE)

27 A son who no longer gives attention to teaching is turned away from the words of knowledge.

Proverbs 19:27 (NCV)

27 Don’t stop listening to correction, my child, or you will forget what you have already learned.
