Our makeshift, duct-taped on-board mixing console for ITALIAN JOB.

No, we don't ride the coaster with the laptop. It's just so we can work on the protools session while patched through to the actual car audio system (which includes two low-frequecy "buttkickers" per seat, for bass effects and engine revs).

After spending a while looking for the right music to fit the film for my Post-Production project, I decided to just record my own! Great fun!

I have had so little free time it's not even funny. This is the first opportunity this week I had to shoot a 365. I haven't even had any time this week to shave (hence no shot of my face)!

Thursday and Friday night my father and I were hired to record a jazz band that we used to do sound for. A friend of ours generously lent us his Digi 002 for the project, and we recorded into ProTools 7.3 LE. It's been fun, but I had to skip on a date that I had planned on Friday night, but I'm getting paid for this gig, so I suppose I can justify it by saving that money away to get myself an iPod touch when they come out later this month.

This is a screenshot of the volume automation in the Pro Tools session for my piece, "Soundrop Experiment". The raw samples used in this piece were generated and recorded using the Soundrop iPad app.

Studio C gets an upgrade...

Hang out with Luke for a few days in his studio.

Luke got himself a new mixer for his studio. I hang out with him, it took us almost 3 days to finish wiring and hooking up this board to the studio. Amazing warm sound, work great with the Protool HD system.

stay tune for next week gear sluts report.

Dan and I spent days and days just tweaking little bits of sound here and there. I kid you not when I say I often woke up in the morning visualizing the sound waves from my alarm clock as a protools track.
