Protesters close down the streets near the Winston Smith and Deona Marie memorials in Uptown Minneapolis.
Winston Smith was killed by Hennepin and Ramsey County Sheriffs officers who were part of a Federal Task Force on June 3rd.
On June 10th, Deona Marie was killed when a protester drove his vehicle through barricades setup to protect those protesting the death of Winston Smith.

This image is part of a continuing series following the unrest and events in Minneapolis following the May 25th, 2020 murder of George Floyd.
A few days ago, there was a protest in front of city hall to draw attention to a cut in the Housing Subsidy Bonus paid out to the marginally housed. I caught this shot of a protestor putting up his signs and couldn't help but notice the juxtaposition between them and the message on the tree--something he no doubt appreciated too.

Siyavash Doostkhah & Greta Kelly explore sufi poetry and mystical music of Iran through acoustic traditions infused with concepts of love and harmony. Their work also brings issues of contemporary Iran to the fore through rap and electronica, and dance tunes with beats and samples

a protester is banging a rock on a garbage container in the secluded area of gazi (where a man almost died from a direct gas grenade hit to the head the day before) to show that he is not retreating.
the situation here is very different from the one in beyoglu. the protesters are cut-off from what is happening elsewhere in istanbul, there are many akp supporters and there is no clear front line against the police. hardly anybody outside this part of town knows about what is going on, press coverage was almost non-existant, and i haven't seen a single medical helper. on the other hand, the protesting seems less sophisticated, more destructive and more aggressive.
This driver was too impatient to wait for the police to open the intersection, so she drove into the crowd of 5,000 marchers.
An estimated 5,000 people turned out for the march to protest the Kinder Morgan pipeline, which will bring crude oil and refined petroleum from the oil sands in Alberta to Vancouver, British Columbia, presumably to be shipped to China. This will increase tanker traffic in and is a danger to our already threatened marine life in the Inside Passage, where two recent spills in two months have already occurred this year. An estimated 5,000 protesters joined the march, from the City Hall to the downtown library.

Pro-Morsi Protest in Paris France.
Protesto de egípcios pró-Morsi, em Paris, nas imediações do Pompidou. 13/10/2013
Protesters march in front of the white house in orange jumpsuits and black bags over their heads. From what I've found online, I believe this is part of "Act Against Torture", a group of activists that are fighting against the United States' Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib policies.
Some people walk around wearing washing machines; some organise petitions and others have their own ideas.....
I hope you enjoy the plastic flowers "growing" in the foreground.
We refused to leave the street and go home until our demand of capital punishment for war criminals are met. Took this photograph on yesterday evening, February 06, 2013, when thousands joined at Shahbag intersection in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It turned into a spontaneous mass protest with thousands of people continuing their sit-in programme to demand capital punishment for Jamaat-e-Islami politician Abdul Quader Molla and other war criminals. University teachers and students, journalists, cultural and political activists, particularly the young generation, gathered at the intersection. We claimed capital punishment for Abdul Quader Molla for he has been found guilty of five out of six charges, including a series of killings including some large-scale massacres in the Mirpur area of Dhaka during the country’s Liberation War in 1971. The given verdict has humiliated the whole nation and disappointed people seeking justice for the mass murder and rape by the collaborators, and also belittled the sacrifices of freedom fighters and intellectuals. The fiery protest is now spread throughout the nation, thousands of people in different districts are on streets demanding justice for war crime.
