May 16, 2008, 10:00am: The California State Supreme Court rules that barring anyone from marriage because of sexual orientation is discriminatory and unconstitutional under the state constitution.

The sketch shows various options. The one in the main picture was chosen, without the arch connecting to the shed on the left. This can be added in future if required to give this corner of the garden a more enclosed feel. Without the arch, the 'trellis' is potentially more striking in its symmetry and simplicity. A beech hedge was planted to complete the garden boundary, and rambling roses will be added to extend onto the trellis and shed, so bringing together the various features of this corner of the garden.

A young gentleman came to us to help him make his special night even more perfect by adding flowers to a private dinner, being catered and with a live musician! Boy was she surprised. We heard afterward: SHE SAID YES! (and how could she not?)
