The upper photo is an example of proportion; a bigger proportion of the sky in a sunset and the rest are the trees, really concentrating on the beautiful flame-like sunset.
The fruit (pie) tart have various colors and kind of fruits which made it so appealing(colorful) and delicious.

Just in proportion as our heart and affections are engaged on heavenly objects, shall we feel a sweet savor of heaven resting upon our spirit; and as we can only give back what we receive, every going forth of divine life from the soul below is but the fruit and effect of the incoming of that life from above. Christ is our life above (Col. 3:4); and as he by his Spirit and grace maintains the life of faith in the soul, it manifests itself in gracious actings upon himself. Without this spirituality of mind, religion is but a mere name, an empty mask, a delusion, and a snare.
God does not take into heaven, into the fullness of his own eternal bliss, those whom he does not love, and who do not love him. It is a prepared people for prepared mansions. And this preparedness for heaven, as an inward grace, much consists in that sweet spirituality of mind whereby heavenly things become our only happiness, and an inward delight is felt in them, that enlarges the heart, ennobles the mind, softens the spirit, and lifts the whole soul, as it were, up into a holy atmosphere in which it bathes as its choice element.
This is "life," not the cold, dead profession of those poor carnal creatures who have only a 'natural faith' in the Lord Jesus Christ and the truths of his gospel; but that blessed life which shall never die, but live in the eternal presence of God when earth and all it holds shall be wrapped in the devouring flames. And it is "peace"--the Redeemer's dying legacy--whereby, as he himself fulfils it, he calms the troubled waves of the soul, stills every rebellious movement, and enthrones himself in the heart as the Prince of peace.

Was so fortunate to be able to photograph the epic Zion glow this year in the Narows and Zion National Park!

It was a very sad day on the night of the 2009 Lantern Festival in Beijing. What supposed to be a glorious celebration at the conclusion of the Chinese New Year period turned out to be a disaster of an epic proportion. Unlicensed fireworks inside Beijing's top landmark site of CCTV Tower complex sparked the devastating fire at the next door Mandarin Oriental Beijing, an ultra-luxury hotel scheduled to open later this year as China's most luxurious hotel; and the group's flagship hotel in China.
Both trophy buildings are designed by one of the most prominent living architects of our time, Rem Koolhaas and have attracted media interest and many fascination from the mainstream audience. It is so surreal. A couple of months back, the building stood majestically behind the shadow of CCTV Tower. The structure still stand majestically now after the fire, but only after a thorough structural investigation been conducted that it could be determined whether or not it is still structurally sound.
I am deeply saddened by this tragedy. It is a heart breaking news for the architecture community. I hope appropriate remedial plans have been prepared to resurrect the building to its former glory as envisioned.
China, Rem and Ole, I feel your pain. I really do.

CN L549 makes a seesaw move after working LC Howard Warehouse in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Seesawing is a switch move where the locomotive is in-between two cuts of cars. It often happens in tight industrial areas, or when there is not enough room or nowhere to run around the train in order to work facing and trailing point switches which was the case here. The GT caboose was a nice touch and in surprisingly great shape.

Participants in London's Al-Quds rally call for people to boycott Israel until the Palestinians are given their freedom and a just settlement.
Several thousand people, including many women and family groups, had gathered to express their support for the Palestinian struggle for justice and self-determination on Al Quds Day, which is held annually around the world and in central London.

Despite the threats from far right extremists to disrupt the march, the numbers attending were high with barely any space to move in Curzon Street, Mayfair, where the rally assembled for the opening speeches.
A stretch of the street immediately in front of the Saudi Embassy had been chosen, due to the monarchical regime's tacit and often open support for Israel's occupation and its crushing of all Palestinian opposition. Israel enjoys a huge diplomatic and strategic advantage, having obtained the support of the US/UK backed neighbouring Arab dictatorships in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Many on the rally were also angry that the UK is exporting arms to Israel, even though it continues to defy international law by imposing a brutal blockade on Gaza and building illegal settlements on Palestinian land while at the same time its army uses lethal force against unarmed protesters.
Although there is overwhelming evidence of Israel's persistent violation of Palestinian human rights, the UK government has exported 445 million dollars worth of military equipment to the country since 2014, including components for fighter aircraft, helicopters and sniper rifles.
It is obvious that it is Israel which is the rogue state, not just by refusing to comply with international law but also by killing protesters who clearly present no danger, but the "mainstream" British media portrays opposition to the Israeli occupation as the problem blaming Hamas, Fatah, Hezbollah and even the Al Quds march in London.
Editorials insisted that the rally was a provocative and extremist event due to the presence of Hezbollah flags, however the papers felt no similar need to criticize the flying of Isreali flags representing a state which has murdered over 130 Palestinians in the last two months, including nurse Razzan al-Najjar, two journalists and several children, as well as injuring 3,600 with live ammunition.
Nor, for that matter, had there been more than a few token critical comments when Israel's prime minister Netanyahu, directly responsible for the killings, visited Downing Street for tea on the previous Wednesday.
Among the supposedly more progressive newspapers the Guardian refused to publish a drawing by its own cartoonist Steve Bell which depicted nurse Razan as one of the victims of the meeting, claiming that the depiction of Razan burning in Number 10's fireplace was anti-semitic.
The casualty figures during the recent shootings clearly show how Israel's use of lethal force is entirely out of proportion to any marginal and highly limited use of force by those besieged in the Gaza enclave. Not a single Israeli soldier has been injured during the targeting of Palestinian protesters and one of the Palestinians killed, Yasser Murtada, was a well respected journalist who had previously worked for the BBC, and was clearly wearing a PRESS jacket at the moment he was shot in the chest by a carefully aimed sniper's bullet.
Another was Razan al-Najjar, a 21 year old Palestinian medic, who was wearing her white medic's uniform, an identification tag and had her arms raised high in the air at the time she was fatally shot in the chest.
Both were killed some distance from the illegally erected border/prison fence which isolates the population of Gaza from both their family relatives and any chance of gainful economic employment in wealthier areas.
That's why the popular anology which compares Israel to South African apartheid is highly misleading because in South Africa, at least the white population needed the blacks as workers, even if they committed appalling atrocities, but in Israel the Palestinian population are neither needed nor wanted by Israeli employees.
Palestinians are treated worse than dogs, to whom humans tend to show some sympathy, but rather as unworthy of any consideration, so much so that past Israeli military operations against Gaza in which the planners know thousands of civilians are likely to die are given the military term "mowing the grass", because the Palestinian civilian population is considered of no more value in importance, than the ants one might tread underfoot when one ventures into the garden.

Peterborough Cathedral is known for its imposing Early English Gothic West Front (façade) which, with its three enormous arches, is without architectural precedent and with no direct successor. The appearance is slightly asymmetrical, as one of the two towers that rise from behind the façade was never completed (the tower on the right as one faces the building), but this is only visible from a distance.
Peterborough is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire, England, with a population of 202,110 in 2017. Historically part of Northamptonshire, it is 76 miles (122 km) north of London, on the River Nene which flows into the North Sea 30 miles (48 km) to the north-east. The railway station is an important stop on the East Coast Main Line between London and Edinburgh. The city is also 70 miles (110 km) east of Birmingham, 38 miles (61 km) east of Leicester, 81 miles (130 km) south of Kingston upon Hull and 65 miles (105 km) west of Norwich.
The local topography is flat, and in some places the land lies below sea level, for example in parts of the Fens to the east of Peterborough. Human settlement in the area began before the Bronze Age, as can be seen at the Flag Fen archaeological site to the east of the current city centre, also with evidence of Roman occupation. The Anglo-Saxon period saw the establishment of a monastery, Medeshamstede, which later became Peterborough Cathedral.
The population grew rapidly after the railways arrived in the 19th century, and Peterborough became an industrial centre, particularly known for its brick manufacture. After the Second World War, growth was limited until designation as a New Town in the 1960s. Housing and population are expanding and a £1 billion regeneration of the city centre and immediately surrounding area is under way. The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Dr. E’s Golden Ratio Principle: The golden ratio exalts beauty because the number is a characteristic of the mathematically and physically most efficient manners of growth and distribution, on both evolutionary and purely physical levels. The golden ratio ensures that the proportions and structure of that which came before provide the proportions and structure of that which comes after. Robust, ordered growth is naturally associated with health and beauty, and thus we evolved to perceive the golden ratio harmonies as inherently beautiful, as we saw and felt their presence in all vital growth and life—in the salient features and proportions of humans and nature alike, from the distribution of our facial features and bones to the arrangements of petals, leaves, and sunflowers seeds. As ratios between Fibonacci Numbers offer the closest whole-number approximations to the golden ratio, and as seeds, cells, leaves, bones, and other physical entities appear in whole numbers, the Fibonacci Numbers oft appear in nature’s elements as “growth’s numbers.” From the dawn of time, humanity sought to salute their gods in art and temples exalting the same proportion by which all their vital sustenance and they themselves had been created—the golden ratio.
Ansel Adams is not only my favorite photographer, but he is one of the greatest photographers and artists of all time. And just like great artists including Michelangelo, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Botticelli, and Picasso, Ansel used the golden ratio and divine proportions in his epic art.

The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Dr. E’s Golden Ratio Principle: The golden ratio exalts beauty because the number is a characteristic of the mathematically and physically most efficient manners of growth and distribution, on both evolutionary and purely physical levels. The golden ratio ensures that the proportions and structure of that which came before provide the proportions and structure of that which comes after. Robust, ordered growth is naturally associated with health and beauty, and thus we evolved to perceive the golden ratio harmonies as inherently beautiful, as we saw and felt their presence in all vital growth and life—in the salient features and proportions of humans and nature alike, from the distribution of our facial features and bones to the arrangements of petals, leaves, and sunflowers seeds. As ratios between Fibonacci Numbers offer the closest whole-number approximations to the golden ratio, and as seeds, cells, leaves, bones, and other physical entities appear in whole numbers, the Fibonacci Numbers oft appear in nature’s elements as “growth’s numbers.” From the dawn of time, humanity sought to salute their gods in art and temples exalting the same proportion by which all their vital sustenance and they themselves had been created—the golden ratio.
Ansel Adams is not only my favorite photographer, but he is one of the greatest photographers and artists of all time. And just like great artists including Michelangelo, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Botticelli, and Picasso, Ansel used the golden ratio and divine proportions in his epic art.
Not so long ago I discovered golden regions in many of his famous public domain his 8x10 aspect ratio photographs. I call these golden harmony regions "regions of golden action" or "ROGA"S, as seen here:

Was so fortunate to be able to photograph the epic Zion glow this year in the Narows aod Zion National Park!
Although shrouded in shadows and with its curtains drawn at present, the Billilla drawing room, built at part of the 1907 extension and renovation, is an elegant and light filled space with two large demilune bays of full-length windows.
As one of the showpiece main rooms of the mansion when guests came to call, the drawing room is not only elegantly proportioned, but also elegantly appointed. As a very femininely oriented room, the ceiling of the drawing room is decorated with ornate stylised foliate Art Nouveau mouldings of roses tumbling about in undulating boiseries. Although not original, the room is papered in softly shaded wallpaper sympathetic to the era, and features its originally gas lit 1907 electroplated sconces of posy vases and bows. Electrified subsequently, the original gas taps can still be seen on each sconce light fixture.
It is however the central chandelier, also once gas lit, with it's original flounced Edwardian shade of russet fabric that perhaps hints at the room's original colour scheme. This matches the gleaming russet Arts and Crafts hearth and inlay tiles of the white marble fireplace. Matching the boiseries and garlands of plaster roses on the ceiling, the in built fire dogs and guard of polished brass also featured roses which are inlaid with losenges of russet coloured glass.
Built in High Victorian style in 1878 for successful gold miner Robert Wright, Billilla mansion was originally a thirteen room mansion erected on seven and a half acres of land.
When economic boom turned to bust in the 1880s, the property was purchased in 1888 by wealthy New South Wales pastoralist William Weatherly who named it Billilla after his land holdings and established a home there for his wife Jeannie and their children Violet, Gladys and Lionel.
The house was substantially altered by architect Walter Richmond Butler in 1907, extending the house beyond its original thirteen rooms and adding the Art Nouveau façade seen today.
After William Weatherly's death in 1914, his wife, who was much younger, remained living there until her own death in 1933. She bequeathed the property to her daughter, Violet, who maintained the home with reduced staff until her own death in 1972.
The property was purchased in 1973 by the Bayside Council who subsequently used Billilla as a historical house with guided tours, a wedding and events venue, a school and finally in 2009 as an artist's precinct in the property's outbuildings. Billilla is a beautiful heritage property retaining many of its original features thanks to its long private ownership still incorporating a stately formal garden and the magnificent historic house.
Billilla, at 26 Halifax Street, Brighton, is one of Melbourne’s few remaining significant homesteads, built on land which had originally been owned by Nicholas Were. The house has a mixture of architectural styles, featuring a Victorian design with Art Nouveau features and has exquisite formal gardens, which retain much of their original Nineteenth Century layout.
Billilla retains many original Victorian elements and a number of outbuildings still stand to the rear of the property including the butler’s quarters, dairy, meat house, stable garden store and coach house.
Billilla was opened to the general public as part of the Melbourne Open House weekend 2022.
Billilla was used as a backdrop in the 1980 Australian Channel 10 miniseries adaptation of Sumner Locke Elliott's "Water Under the Bridge". It was used at the Sydney harbourside home of Luigi, Honor and Carrie Mazzini.
Well I was shooting fall colors in Zion National PArk when I saw that they had forecast snow for Bryce Canyon, so instead of heading back to LA, I headed out to Bryce Canyon! And I was treated to snow, sun, clouds, snowstorm, and then a glorious sunrise over the s-capped hoo-doos in Bryce! :)

Had a great time waking up at 5 AM every day to shoot tunnel view and then driving around down in the valley to Half Dome, Bridalviel Falls, Cook's Meadow and the glorious Cook's Meadow elm tree, Sentinel Bridge, Valley View, Swinging Bridge, and more! Yosemite winters are made for black and whites, and Ansel Adam's ghost haunts the brilliant landscape scenery!
The most epic "Ansel Adams" view is tunnel view where one can see El Capitan, Bridalviel Falls, and Half Dome over magnificent trees, snow, rising fogs, and breaking mists. Enjoy!

The Fibonacci Numbers are closely related to the golden ratio, and thus they also play a prominent role in exalted natural and artistic compositions!
I'm working on a far deeper book titled The Golden Ratio Number for Photographers. :)
The famous mathematician Jacob Bernoulli wrote:
The (golden spiral) may be used as a symbol, either of fortitude and constancy in adversity, or of the human body, which after all its changes, even after death, will be restored to its exact and perfect self.
Engraved upon Jacob’s tombstone is a spiral alongside the words, "Eadem Mutata Resurgo," meaning "Though changed, I shall rise again." And so it is that within the Golden Ratio Principle, the golden harmonies rise yet again.
The golden ratio is oft known as the divine cut, the golden cut, the divine proportion, the golden number, and PHI for the name of the architect of the Parthenon Phidias. It has exalted classical art on down through the millennia and it can exalt your art too!

Knole Park is a deer park located directly to the south-east of the town of Sevenoaks in Kent, England. Dominating a large proportion of the park is Knole House, a 15th-century manor house, with the oldest parts being built by Thomas Bourchier, Archbishop of Canterbury. The park is substantially wooded and reflecting its woodland is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.[1] In the north of the park lies Knole Park Golf Course
Knole House /noʊl.haʊs/ NT is an English country house in the civil parish of Sevenoaks in west Kent. Sevenoaks consists of the town itself and Knole Park, a 1,000-acre (4.0 km2) park, within which the house is situated. Knole is one of England's largest houses. It has been suggested that it was a calendar house, which had 365 rooms, 52 staircases, 12 entrances and seven courtyards, but this is a lovely story rather than actual fact. The house has grown and changed over hundreds of years of development and there is no evidence that it was designed as a calendar house.
It was constructed beginning in the late 15th century, with major additions in the 16th century. Its grade I listing reflects its mix of Elizabethan to late Stuart structures, particularly in the case of the central façade and state rooms. The surrounding deer park has also survived with few manmade changes in the 400 years since 1600. But, its formerly dense woodland has not fully recovered from the loss of more than 70% of its trees in the Great Storm of 1987.
Birkenau was the largest of the more than 40 camps and sub-camps that made up the Auschwitz complex. During its three years of operation, it had a range of functions. When construction began in October 1941, it was supposed to be a camp for 125 thousand prisoners of war. It opened as a branch of Auschwitz in March 1942, and served at the same time as a center for the extermination of the Jews. In its final phase, from 1944, it also became a place where prisoners were concentrated before being transferred to labor in German industry in the depths of the Third Reich.
The majority—probably about 90%—of the victims of Auschwitz Concentration Camp died in Birkenau. This means approximately a million people. The majority, more than nine out of every ten, were Jews. A large proportion of the more than 70 thousand Poles who died or were killed in the Auschwitz complex perished in Birkenau. So did approximately 20 thousand Gypsies, in addition to Soviet POWs and prisoners of other nationalities.
