Imam Mahdi ᴾᴮᵁᴴ and prophet Jesus ᴾᴮᵁᴴ will return together, they are friends; they are on the same side. One might say to us that “You claim Jesus ᴾᴮᵁᴴ will say his prayers behind Imam Mahdi ᴾᴮᵁᴴ .” You know what? Ignore this; when Jesus ᴾᴮᵁᴴ returns, Imam Mahdi ᴾᴮᵁᴴ will also return. Who becomes the chief or the assistant does not matter to us. They are both leaders to us. I, as a Muslim say Imam Mahdi ᴾᴮᵁᴴ is the leader, you, as a Christian say Jesus ᴾᴮᵁᴴ is the leader. When they return, we will ask those great honorable men who the leader or assistant is? Whatever they say we will accept

Arba'een or Chehelom (Persian: چهلم‎, Urdu: چہلم‎, "the fortieth [day]"), is a Shia Muslim religious observance that occurs 40 days after the Day of Ashura. It commemorates the martyrdom of Hussein bin Ali, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad which falls on the 20th day of the month of Safar. Imam Husayn and 72 companions were martyred in the Battle of Karbala in the year 61 AH (680 CE), killed by Yazid I's army. Arba'een, or Chehlom, is one of the largest pilgrimage gatherings on Earth, in which over 15 million people go to the city of Karbala in Iraq.

The occasion reminds the faithful of the core message behind Husayn's martyrdom: establishing justice and fighting injustice, no matter what its incarnation—a message that strongly influenced subsequent Shi'a uprisings against the Umayyad and Abbasid rule.

Photo taken on 1/6/12. YES!! I am back at it. This is my first photo snapped in close to a year and a half!!!

Bought 4 prayer rugs from this shop. Most of which i gave to friends as gifts. They had so many it was impossible to choose as they were all so beautiful. Lovely friendly people. The guy on the motorcycle was just hanging out chatting to everyone. They also sold a lot of Batik in the store. I love how all the shops in Asia are open to the street. Something you cant find in Australia. Too many people would steal stuff.

Illuminated bifolio of Dala’il al Khayrāt, feat. two illustrations of the two holy cities of Makkah and Madinah in a two dimensional style, copied in Kashmir in 1808, Arabic manuscript, opaque watercolour, gold, and ink on paper. Some of the characteristics of Kashmiri Dala’il al Khayrāt copies are the rich palette, intricate details, rectangular fields and a concentric composition (such as the keyhole motif enclosing the Kaaba). For Madinah an emphasis on the minbar, the three tombs (Prophet’s ﷺ tomb and two of his companions a.s), the lower tomb of Prophet’s daughter Fatima (as), the palm tree which she planted when her father was alive. Dala’il al Khayrāt is a popular prayer book in praise of the Prophet ﷺ compiled by Al-Jazuli (Abu AbdAllah Muhammad Ibn Suleiman Ibn Abi Bakr Al-Jazuli Al-Simlali, also known as Sheikh Jazuli or Imam Jazuli, a Berber Sufi mystic from the Berber tribe of Jazula, Morocco, born in Sous, died in Ribat Sidi Chiker 1404 - 1465). Al-Jazuli studied in Madrassa As-Saffarīn in Fes, he then lived in Makkah, Madinah and Jerusalem, before returning to Fes where he completed the prayer book. Kashmir’s art of illumination and illustration, their attention (to the littlest details) to everything re: Islam and Prophet ﷺ within their arts and crafts, their colour palette are quite exceptional. Kashmir was a major art center, their artisans and artists have inspired other artists, artisans, and illustrators beyond the subcontinent. Notes from my research / picture courtesy Christie’s.

Abdullah Al-Arian the 31 year old Assistant Professor of history specializing in the modern Middle East has published an article on Aljazeera titled ‘The insult, the injury and the indignities of empire’, citing during colonial times, scathing critiques of Islam were often met by Muslims with thoughtful and measured responses. Al-Arian states “…the United States and its European allies hope to absolve themselves of any culpability for the recurring hostility expressed by populations in the Middle East and beyond. To deny historical experiences and current political realities allows one to miss the point entirely: that the offence caused by the steady flow of anti-Islamic cultural production is quite literally adding insult to injury. And it is much easier for all of those involved to focus on the insult rather than the injury. There is little new in the amateurish hate-filled film that emerged out of the bowels of an Islamophobia industry that has picked up considerable steam in the last decade. Aside from trading the physical soapbox for the digital one of YouTube, anti-Islamic screeds have not evolved much since the era of the Crusades, relying primarily on a thoroughly discredited historical narrative of Prophet Muhammad’s life and mission that acted as a kind of medieval war propaganda. …Anyone seeking to understand the recent upheavals need only contrast the latest response with historical ones. Internal Muslim condemnations against the protests have relied primarily on Muhammad’s example of ignoring insults against his person. But in fact, there is a long tradition of Muslim tolerance for insults against their faith and its founder.” Inspired by Aljazeera ow.ly/e0c6S image source usavsalarian ow.ly/e0cnQ
