Romanesque stained glass windows in the Cathedral of Augsburg, dated to the late 11th or the early 12th century. From left to right they feature the prophets Jonah, Daniel, Hosea, King David and Moses.
The windows are about 2.20 m high. The Daniel, Hosea and King David windows are still in their original condition, whereas the Jonah window contains some reworks, and the Moses window is a re-creation of the original dated to the middle of the 16th century.

At the end of Lower Antelope Canyon in Arizona you can see the head of a figure which could have been carved by an 11th-century romanesque sculptor for some abbey in France or Italy, depicting the prophet Jeremiah or some other Old Testament character. His long hair and beard form fiery waves... Or maybe I'm just seeing things. In short, nature at its most virtuosic.

In a way, these roses speak to me. They are talking about life, beauty, transitoriness, and about our duty not to waste this life we have got. What the prophet says I am not so sure. He has been for years outside in the garden, and nobody listens, it seems. His presence is a reminder nevertheless. Of what?

According to Abrahamic religions, Aaron was a prophet, a high priest, and the elder brother of Moses. Knowledge of Aaron, along with his brother Moses, exclusively comes from religious texts, such as the Bible and the Quran.
In the Eastern Orthodox and Maronite churches, Aaron is venerated as a saint whose feast day is shared with his brother Moses and celebrated on September 4. (Those churches that follow the traditional Julian calendar celebrate this day on September 17 of the modern Gregorian calendar). Aaron is also commemorated with other Old Testament saints on the Sunday of the Holy Fathers, the Sunday before Christmas.

Prophet und Genius (Lage: M 6, von 1961): Eine eher untypische Engelsdarstellung ist diese Bronzeplastik des Berliner Bildhauers Gerhard Marcks. Ein Jüngling, der als Engel gestaltet ist, geleitet einen blinden Propheten behutsam und liebevoll ins Jenseits: Marcks greift hier die Vorstellung des Engels als Seelengeleiter auf. Er tut dies in einer Zeit, in der viele klassische Friedhofsengel von ihren Sockeln entfernt wurden. Sie wurden damals als unmodern angesehen. Heute jedoch erfreuen sie sich wieder großer Beliebtheit.

In rural Brampton, just on the outskirts of Toronto, built in 1995, the parish church of St. Elias the Prophet rises high on the Peel Plain above the Credit River Valley. Though this building was built in 1995, the parish community was started in 1976.
A wooden structure of heavy timbers (Douglas Fir), it is sheathed in Western red cedar. It has been constructed according to an architectural style known as “Boyko”, derived from western Ukraine.
The 3 sections (altar, sanctuary, and narthex) are each topped with a dome or cupola. According to Byzantine liturgical typology, the dome is an image of the heavens.
The narthex is the world fallen after the sin of Adam, the Sanctuary is the world redeemed following the Passion and Resurrection of Christ Jesus, and the Altar is the World to Come, an image of the New Jerusalem.
The cupolas on the church of St. Elias are in the 17th century Cossack style. It is one the only 2 Boyko churches that have 5 cupolas rather than the usual 3 (the other being St. George's in Drohobych, Ukraine.
Steeped in the Byzantine Ukrainian tradition of wooden architecture, St. Elias Church was designed on the principle that architectural form should follow liturgical function.
Each space within the church has been designed in order to enable full and complete celebration of the sacramental Mysteries facilitating the active participation of the entire assembly.
Our Temple is built according to the ancient canons which prescribe that Christians should pray facing the East ("East" being a symbol of Christ.) Luke 1:79 says that the Christ is the Dayspring (Sunrise from on high ("Anatole ex ypous"...or in Latin, "ORIENS ex alto."
