India Fur Coat and Black Bra Portrait Photo Shoot Arch Street Studio Philadelphia Ilford HP5 Plus ISO 400 35 mm B&W Film Contact Sheet Proof Print July 1995

This is a proof sheet of some of my mom's photography. About 1986.

Mike strikes a heroic pose next to the cairn marking the summit of Puig de L'Ofre (1091 m). I used a 300mm lens and a monopod to take the shot from the roof terrace of our holiday appartment in Sóller - a distance of about 3 miles. Coordination was via text message as he was completely invisible both to the naked eye, and through the viewfinder. Due to the lamentable texting ability of two old blokes Mike had to hold the pose for about 10 minutes.

Proof of my Miku pre-order. Taking back ups, not going to keep her.

Ever since Mr Chiots and I mentioned that we were building a teardrop camper people keep asking for photos. We were joking the other day that no one really believes that we're doing it, much less that we'll have it finished this month. Here's some proof for all you who keep wanting to know how it's going and keep asking for photos.

Mr Chiots has been spending a few hours almost every evening out in the garage cutting, sanding, wiring, measuring, nailing and putting together the little camper. The garage is filled with formaldyhyde free plywood, aluminum for skinning and various shapes and sizes of lights and other things needed for the build. We're building it out of all no/low VOC & natural materials.

Starting to look like something cool!

another neobux payment after 9 days!

Not quite a Vandercook (not even quite a Farley!) but our new little galley proofing press is a perfect addition to the studio – the 13" x 17" bed now means we can produce some decent sized prints. Plus it has an adjustable hight roller with micrometer. The perfect compliment to the trusty Models.

Not sure what this press is as there's no makers mark or name. It looks like it might be a Farley-esque clone(?) as the adjustable roller dial bears an uncanny resemblance to several of the Farleys we've seen. Anyone with any thoughts, please do let us know.

Well if that ain't a fine howdoyado...

The image that had originally held this spot was a photograph I'd taken of the proof sheet that I was sooooo excited to pick up today, the first roll of medium-format film I'd shot two days ago when I took out my new CPM auction win, a Yashica-C twin lens box camera, for a play date with Dakgirl1.

I had written about how frustrated I have been with myself for having misplaced the power cord to my scanner after rearranging my living room a month ago and how much I wanted to be able to scan. There was much grring, gnashing of teeth, wailing and moaning and a couple of dramatic hand to the forehead poses. Really, it was ugly. You didn't miss anything remotely worthwhile.

In the meantime, I've been on the phone with multiple computer repair shops trying to find a used power cord for the printer/scanner (two potential leads, nothing solid so far) when something one of the reps said sparked an idea in me to check my surge protector to see if by complete happenstance I might not have misplaced the cord after all.

Hahaha, I'm such a goof ... one end of the power cord was indeed plugged into the surge protector and the other end was laying in a twisted pile. D'oh!!

Long story short: the scanner/printer is again functional, the cord was never gone, and I am such a happy exhausted camper that I think I'll have to take a nap to recover.

Random proof sheets from 'Prince and Other Dogs' and 'Prince II'

Everything holds up like it should. No strings attached or glue used. The tail holds its own weight, barely... Pretty solid build. Dropped it once already and barely broke apart. So far so good. Just need more parts lol!!! As usual... Over all this build is coming along great!!!

I love the juxtaposition of rich texture beside mirror smooth surfaces, and the play of light across them.
