In japan trains are supposed to arrive on time. Many Japanese companies do not take "train was late" as an excuse when you're late in the morning. In fact, if you're late for no reason, you could get part of your annual leave deducted. Just like that.
So, what happens if trains are really late? Earthquakes, accidents, or more often, someone commits suicide? Train companies issue this paper called Proof of Delay. Holes indicate date and duration (< 15 min., 30 minutes, 60 minutes).
It's very rough and unfinished, but I made it very quickly. There is no magnet on this one, but you can get an idea. The welds are really built up right now so I can grind in a contour for the hand.
