Since adding the Canon G10 to the line-up a few months ago I have not had the time to play with it much until recently. The more I use it the more impressed I am. Today I was putting it through some macro paces and playing with the manual focus option. Here is some exotic tiger-beetle fossicking around inside an enormous yellow-pink rose growing outside Adam's kindergarten window. F/2.8, 1/2000, ISO 200, autofocus. Pretty nice work, P&S!
Maybe I needn't have ordered the macro kit for this rig after all...
And while I know some may not consider this camera the definition of the "poor man" in "Poor Man's Macro", to me just pulling out a P&S and pushing the button satisfies the minimalism requirements.

Proof that I wrote a book? Well, yes and no. It's my printer's proof–last chance for me to make changes before making the book available for purchase as a dead tree edition.
