Flame project is an international US-Cambodia collaboration expedition that seeks to understand water quality from Laos to the Vietnam Border. The team is studying the health of the river, water quality, mercury, plastic pollution, greenhouse gases (methane carbon dioxide) that are important for climate change. The project is led by Dr. Sudeep Chandra, professor of the University of Nevada Reno and member of the Wonders of the Mekong team. The FLAME project was started on 18 February 2022 by boat from Phnom Penh along Bassac River to the Vietnam border and back, and the next day from Phnom Penh along the Mekong River to the Vietnam border and back. From 20-26 February 2022 we are going upstream from Phnom Penh getting through Kampong Cham, Kratie provinces, and finishing at the Onlong Chheur Teal dolphin pools near the Lao border in Stung Treng Province.

I first started photographing graffiti in 1999, and in 2000 I setup a website to share my photos. Initially a mix of different subjects, but it soon became almost entirely of graffiti. I uploaded over 6000 photos to this site. Eventually Flickr came along a few years later and I started using that instead, and stopped updating the website. I shut it down completely a few years ago.

I occasionally get requests from people for photos of pieces by specific graffiti writers, and I thought it might be a good idea to upload them all to Flickr.

Most of these photos were taken on film, scanned, and saved at a small size, back in the day when people were still using 56k modems to connect to the internet and small filesizes were desirable. So apologies for the quality and size for some of these. Someday I'd like to get them all scanned in again at a higher resolution.

My daughter, Rachel, knit this wool afghan during her senior year in college. She left it with me while she lived in Japan for 3 years. When she returned, I begged to keep it. She drove a hard bargain and I bought her a "chair and a half". We are both happy.

Heavy fog this morning - the palm tree in the background is across the street. Taken for my personal 365 project.

In June Project Zero hosted nearly 270 adoptable foster children and more than 90 potential adoptive families at their 9th Annual Disney Extravaganza – a connection event for waiting kids and families to get to know one another – at Little Rock First Baptist Church. Volunteers with ProjectZero, DCFS and individuals in communities across the state transported children from all 75 counties to Little Rock for the day to play games, interact with approved families and perhaps create the initial bonds of what will become an adoptive family. #disneyextravaganza2017 #makingmagichappen For more information on Project Zerop, please visit theprojectzero.org/

You asked me to cook you some edemame, our favorite snack, before we left to take you on post. In our haste we were only able to eat some of it so when I returned home many hours later without you... I was faced with all the things you had left behind. These beans miss your touch just as much as I do.

Project 365: Day 178 of 365

taken with my phone... I was cold and shivering... anyway, it's a frozen fox print, complete with nail marks!

I'm starting to have mini brain farts when it comes to taking pictures.

I'm sure I will find something. I just need inspiration.

We love our gray guinea pig...her name is Daisy.
