From Library on the Move blog: The next phase of the Student Centre development involves the erection of hoardings inside the Library. The floors have been marked up with red tape to show the position of the hoardings on each floor. Once erected the hoardings will enclose the internal construction zone where a lift shaft and communications duct will be built. The erection of the hoardings is expected to begin on Level 1 on Monday February 23.

Twenty-one industry project managers from the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georgia Power recently visited the Athens area as part of a two-day bus tour of the region.

“Project Managers serve as the first point of contact for new industry looking to locate in the state of Georgia, so it’s important for them to experience a community’s cultural amenities first hand,” Ryan Moore, director of the Athens-Clarke County economic development department said in a statement.

While in Athens, the group went to a reception sponsored by the University of Georgia and dinner on The Classic Center Theatre stage with entertainment by Circle Ensemble Theatre and the band Saint Francis. The Athens-Clarke County Economic Development Department and Georgia Power coordinated to provide the dinner and entertainment. The trip also included a discussion with Mayor Nancy Denson on Athens-Clarke County as a location of choice for various industries and educational leaders spoke to the group about the Athens’ workforce and educational assets. It also included a bus tour of the area.

The regional bus tour, organized by Georgia Power, visited several northeast Georgia cities, including Gainesville, Cornelia and Hartwell.

Regional Optimization Master Plan (ROMP) provides Pima County WW treatment to 2030

Agua Nueva Water Reclamation Facility

The Agua Nueva Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) will replace the existing Roger Road Water Reclamation Facility. The Roger Road facility which began operating in the 1951 has a capacity of 41 million gallons a day (MGD). The old technology used to process wastewater flows at this facility cannot meet modern-day environmental standards. The Agua Nueva WRF will meet standards required for effluent discharges into the Santa Cruz River. In Pima County’s agreement with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), the Agua Nueva facility was scheduled to be fully operational in January 2015. However, this facility is ahead of schedule, and will likely begin treating wastewater in February 2014. The price tag for the Agua Nueva WRF originally was budgeted at $275 million. However, it appears that this project will be completed for less than $180 million.

With the opening of this facility and the decommissioning of the decades-old Roger Road WRF, treatment plant odors which have plagued the Westside of Tucson for many years will no longer be a problem. The Agua Nueva WRF will have state of the art odor control technology in strategic locations throughout the facility.

The capacity of the new facility is 32 MGD. Solids will not be treated at the Agua Nueva WRF; instead, solids will be conveyed to and treated at the upgraded and expanded Ina Road WRF.

Event: 2nd Session of Solar Powered LED Lanterns rewards ceremony to young Teaching Students of Development in Literacy (DIL) Junior 3- Mehran School Orangi School Orangi Town, Karachi, Pakistan and Learning Adults like parents, neighbors, relatives, community elders upon completion of the short 3 month course.
