Step into an enchanting realm of art and technology at teamLab Borderless in Tokyo, where every surface comes alive with mesmerizing digital projections. This immersive installation, captured in the photo, features a dynamic blend of nature and fantasy. The lush green foliage intertwines with vibrant blooms, creating a cascading wall of organic imagery. At the heart of the scene is a whimsical black creature, seemingly plucked from a fairytale, surrounded by playful bursts of color. The details reveal a mesmerizing mosaic pattern overlay, lending the scene an almost kaleidoscopic effect that shifts and evolves with every movement of light and shadow.

TeamLab Borderless isn’t just a museum; it’s a digital playground where the boundaries between art, viewer, and space dissolve. Each projection is part of a larger, interconnected system, responding dynamically to the environment and the movement of guests. This specific piece transports you to a dreamlike forest, where flora and fauna coexist in a surreal, painterly harmony. The interplay of light creates a multi-sensory experience that challenges perceptions of depth and reality.

Hidden gems abound in every corner of teamLab Borderless, rewarding those who linger and explore. This scene, for instance, perfectly exemplifies the collective’s genius for blending traditional Japanese motifs with cutting-edge technology. Insider tip: Visit during off-peak hours to fully immerse yourself without distraction, and don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes—there’s no fixed path, and getting lost is part of the magic. Every visit offers something new, making it a must-see for art lovers, tech enthusiasts, and anyone seeking wonder.

Projection mapping by Chips and Toon at the CHIJMES chapel hall during Singapore Night Festival 2019.

Next video loop of my 3d Projection mapped sculpture (Permutation 030) combines 2D, 3D, Digital, And Physical. The size of the sculpture is: 14,5 * 14,5 * 4 cm. Painted in rough, dull grey. Working on a better surface for the next sculpture, more UV-mappings and interactivity for parametric animations in the next installation.

One of the most amazing and spectacular light, laser, water, fireworks and music shows I have ever seen!

Disney Illuminations

Disney Illuminations is a nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris. It opened to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the park and is based on Ignite the Dream at Shanghai Disneyland Park. The show features projection mapping onto the park's castle, fireworks, water fountains, fire, music, lasers, searchlights, mist screens and other special effects. The music played the theme song in Opening And Finale scene is "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes", performed by Heather Headley.

The show starts with a voice-over, inviting all guests to release their inner child and dream:

Within each of us is a dreamer, just waiting to be awakened.

We all have the magic to unlock this inner child.

But sometimes, that inner child needs an invitation to come out and play.

This is your invitation... to dream.

The show is known to use a large amount of audio-visual, lighting, pyrotechnic and hydrotechnic technology mostly installed for the preceding Disney Dreams! show. The castle is covered with projectors covering a much wider than the previous Disney Dreams! The hill around the castle is also included in the fields of projection.

Opened: March 26, 2017

Replaced: Disney Dreams!

Type: Multimedia, water, pyrotechnic show

Design: Walt Disney Creative Entertainment

Duration: 20 minutes

is an audiovisual journey conceived by video artist Michael “Gene” Aichner, alias “Genelabo”, for the 100th anniversary celebrations of St. Martin-Moosach parish church.

The interplay of images, videos, light and sound make the church shine. Lichtspuren invites visitors to reflect, calm down and see the church with different eyes and enjoy the music.

With equipment and technical support sponsored by Senovva, Inc., we set out to create a one of a kind public art experience, a projection mapping installation for multiple surfaces and multiple dimensions.

Unfolding like an animated modern Botticelli painting, flowing above our heads and spreading outwards

in every direction, “As Above, So Below” immersed viewers in the architecture of the Manhattan Bridge. Audiences physically entered the story and explored the shimmering surface as it ignited with messages and symbols.

This originally conceived video mapping project was a challenge offered to a group of artists from varying backgrounds. Led by digital arts pioneers Farkas Fulop and Ryan Uzilevsky, with post production support by Sina Taherkhani, the group created a one-of-a-kind experience. Utilizing 25,000 square feet of animation, and ultimately winning "Best In Show" at the Dumbo Arts Festival. Also participating in the group were artists Simon Anaya, John Parker, Richard Jochum and Johnny Moreno.

This production tested every technique in image-making conceivable in the short time frame, including stop motion animation, and the suspension of over twenty performance artists from fly wires at sixteen feet off the ground.

Leo Kuelbs is responsible for securing the site and bringing the original team together. He also put together a great international video art showcase between screenings of "As Above, So Below."
