I'm still in hospital but I went for a little walk today. This church is across the road from the hospital.

The PROJECT

Ein dokumentarisch-fiktiver Abend über Identität

In Anlehnung an «The DNA-Project» der Künstlerin Marina Belobrovaja

To Die For

Mark Burns, Richard Cleaver, John De Fazio, David Furman, Peter Gourfain, Kathy King, Charles Kraft, Matt Nolen, Mel Rubin, Richard Shaw, Ehren Tool, Monica Van den Dool.

Whether in effigy pots, vase paintings, or offerings to the dead, ceramics has always been a significant material in the world of the rituals of death, spirituality and transformation. Invited and juried artists have responded to the timeless topics of death and dying, the nature of mortality, the afterlife and the surrounding fears of loss – hosts, ghosts and the meaning of life.

February 8, 2015 - Clocks got time, songs got rhyme, but baby I got you.

After much turmoil and thought, I've decided I am going to abandon my 365 Project that I started on January 1 and change gears a bit. I've decided I'm going to instead attempt an iPhone-only 365 project beginning today.

My rules for the project will be:

1. Photos taken and edited with my iPhone 6 only

2. Photos will be square format

A small project consisting of setting up a shoot with random passersby and getting them to pull a face.

All participants where informed of the project and asked if they wanted to be a part. To see the rest of the project you can visit cambrils.tumblr.com/

我真的好想念宜蘭

Today was quite a wet one in terms of weather. It was quite hard to find anything that stoudout for me. But luckily you can always look on the bright side of life/weather. On my way to launch today I was standing at the lights waiting to cross when a group on people came up behind me waiting to cross. I had my new Fujifilm Finepix X100 under my jacket and looked to the right of me and found this women standing in the weather with this broken umbrella and just before the lights went green I pulled my camera out a toke this stealthy photo without anyone knowing.

today I hatched the idea that I'd like to try and make some translations of Jacques Brel songs, primarily to try and kickstart some inspiration and also to understand the songs better. Trouble is, my French is crap so I'm heavily reliant on various dictionaries, and, god help me, Babelfish. I'm determined not to look at previous English versions though.

I started with 'Marieke', which is in French and Dutch. I've listened to it dozens of times and was sure it was both a passionate love song and a proud tribute to his country. Turns out to be a sad and desolate song. And, yes, I do seem to have a thing for writing on envelopes...

The Eden Project is a visitor attraction in Cornwall, England. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, located 2 km (1.2 mi) from the town of St Blazey and 5 km (3 mi) from the larger town of St Austell, Cornwall.

The complex is dominated by two huge enclosures consisting of adjoining omes that house thousands of plant species, and each enclosure emulates a natural biome. The biomes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The largest of the two biomes simulates a Rainforest environment and the second, a Mediterranean environment. The attraction also has an outside botanical garden which is home to many plants and wildlife native to Cornwall and the UK in general; it also has many plants that provide an important and interesting backstory, for example, those with a prehistoric heritage.

This week I attempted to perform my light writing outside. The area I wanted to use was taken up by a bunch of kids, so I picked somewhere else. With this, I was able to get the room I needed and in some cases was also able to extend my shutter speed. The main issue I'm running into is the use of my flashlight on my camera/led stick and me not being fluent writing backwards. I'm going to go to my storage unit and get one of my flashlights and practice at home writing normal and see if I can just flip the orientation in lightroom. The area was lit but it wasn't distracting as you can see. I feel if I can get this to work then I should have no problem in accomplishing my project the way I want to.

The sun was going down the other evening when I stopped by to take some shots. I loved this boat shop. Everything from the texture of the weathered wood to the old fashion signs.

Not sure if it's cheating... but that's not the sky that was there that evening. It was really boring looking, so I stripped in a shot of they sky I took earlier in the week. I think it makes the image much better.

AHHHHHH!!!

I had no idea what my photo for today was going to be. In the middle of taking my shower i was like, "Hey what if i use the towel like girls and wrap it around my head?" Then i just started making weird faces until i found one i liked.

One thing i have learned so far from this 365 project is that self portraits are hard but this transition from being behind the camera to being in front of it is a bit liberating.
