We ended up taking down all the lath and plaster because patching was going to be a nightmare. Plus this way we got to insulate and clean up some more wiring.

What's done:

- Gas line for stove removed

- All electrical replaced, brought up to code and approved by the city

- Floor ripped up, replaced with plywood throughout

- Lath and plaster ripped out

- Walls insulated, vapor-barrier

- t&g paneling across 2/3rds of the ceiling (bye bye popcorn ceiling)

- structure (door moved, window replaced) inspected and approved by the city.

Not bad for a weeks work...

Progress of the logo I am doing for my friend's car club..that is Texas in his tongue. I still need to work on the tongue and add some depth.

I love this view. These high rises have crept up in the last 8 years. Progress?

Curtains will go up tonight, and organizing is the way forward, but things are coming together in the bedroom.

Documenting Lulu's progress with the camera on the ipad. Lulu doesn't trust my DSLR camera yet.

Today is the very first time Lulu has played with me. And, of course, Vidalia is involved in the fun and games. While I was able to coax Lulu up to the top step while playing, I some day hope to encourage Lulu to spend time on the bed instead of under it. I suspect Vidalia will be able to help me accomplish that.

At some point I hope to get those razor-sharp claws trimmed. But that's quite a ways off still.

Close up of the portrait a bit further into the progress- added white for highlights.
