Since our last look at the old US Steel yard in Corbin, much has changed as Progress Rail preps the site for their own facilities. Many of the stored cars here have been removed and the tracks are being pulled, only to be relayed in a new configuration i'm told. It will be interesting to see what becomes of this, but for now it seems Progress Rail is making progress.

The Progress was an iron-screw coastal steamer, wrecked on 1st May 1931 at Owhiro Bay on Wellington's south coast. Four seafarers, including the chief officer, drowned. Debris from the wreck lies on the seabed at 5-10 metres depth, and comprises mostly iron plates and frames, plus a boiler and machinery.
