Louisville, Colorado. So long beautiful grassland. It's time to replace you with over-sized houses, asphalt, and watered lawns. Ryland is building these homes.
It makes me think of what Agent Smith said in the Movie The Matrix:
I'd like to share a revelation I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. Dedicated to one of my colleagues who has been simply amazing this year. She helped guide me through the treacherous maze that is the numeracy program and made it look easy!
Been visiting my old home town over the Easter break. It was lovely to see so much effort, money and resources poured into town. Everywhere I looked in the town center, buildings were being cleaned up and the place was looking more respectable than I've ever seen it. There seemed to be a sense of civic pride that I'd not detected before. Even on the outskirts, former slums are being torn down and replaced by new housing estates that really seem to change the whole feel of the place.
But unfortunately you don't have to go too far to find the places that are forgotten by the town planners. This picture was taken in a part of West Yorkshire that has suffered its fair share of problems as long as I can remember. From my recent glimpse at the place it seems that some things are slow to change....

Sue Sturdy and her gang are attaching the donated knits to the bridge all week. I went down to drop off the #uptownknitmob's contributions, and had to stop and admire the bridge. Too bad the unveiling was scheduled for the same day as the Knitters' Fair!
This building was put up back in 1989...22 years ago, in building years...it was still quite "young". I can only imagine the property value went way up as this is right across the street from the Richmond Olympic Oval...and you guessed it...they're building condos...Progress!
Progress: kitchen and ladder – the walls have been plastered and papered. Not long now! Just a shame the very nice flooring wasn't protected properly. Repairs cost a lot of time...

Sophia is now using the actual loom to make her rainbow loom bracelets. Not sure what changed her mind, but the other day she asked for help to make sure she was putting the bands on properly. I still loop the bands for her, but I have a feeling she'll be doing that on her own pretty soon too.
