I made some progress yesterday and it is actually looking like the pattern!! yahooo!! I still can't believe I am really knitting...ha ha!

The central figure wears the 'Star of Empire' and carries a book symbolizing education and enlightenment. From her other hand, telegraph wires 'flash intelligence [information] through the land.' Peace reigns, the years of civi war are over. The partially completed Brooklyn Bridge represents the powerful cities in the East as white Americans and railroads bring progress to the West. The conquest of the American Indians seems assured, though the wars still raged."

It's important to note that to get to the west coast, Ms. Manifest Destiny is going to have to trot across an enormous* amount of land that was part of Mexico until 1848, when the United States took it in a base act of territorial expansion through war. And before that, the land had belonged to Native Americans.
*The United States contains 900,000 square miles of land that used to be Mexico, about equal in size to Western Europe, according to Wikipedia.
I made some good progress the last week. the upper part of the ship also needs to have LEDs installed.
All that's left is track belts and a couple more parts to fill gaps. Nearly done, and ready for an improved script.
I don't know if it's clear here, but my ambitious sketch was attempting to incorporate a little bit of everyone's previous work, around a slightly modified version of Nate's cockpit, which is brilliant, by the way.
However it's ending up slightly smaller than I thought, and certainly will be less massive than Nate's. But don't worry, Don. I'll make up the difference with some swanky greebs and way too many modified plates with bars on them.
New Year's Resolution No. #1 is to finish this quilt! My goal is to have it complete by March 1st~just in time to back it with a print from the re-release of FMF. See, there is a method to my madness.

I bought the book as a promo pack complete with ten Derwent Coloursoft pencils at quite a low price. The offer price seems to have gone up £4 since I bought it!
The book comes with instructions, a colour wheel and a couple of completed coloured in pages.Seemingly ideal for beginners and youngsters but perhaps isn't everyone's cup of tea.
So far I have given the bird its first coating but it now needs at least another one over the top.
I honestly can't work out what leaves, flowers or buds are growing from the branch.Jan says just start and see what develops. Keeping to the ten Coloursoft pencils makes it more of a challenge.
If I do finish it I'll attempt to put it on Flickr in due course.
They call it progress but I feel sad each time I see these structures being built. All the orchards and farms are all gone and the population has gone up from 40, 000 to more that 200, 000 in 35 years that we've been here. The farmer across the street from our house used to let me go and help myself to whatever he had growing. The farmer passed away and the family sold the farm and became residential houses not too long after.
I'd been thinking about another trip to this part of Felixstowe for a while but had been waiting for tide, sunset and weather to all get along nicely together. The opportunity arose last night when it finally stopped raining so Parrish and I headed down there on a very last minute trip.
I spent most of my time trying to avoid getting the docks in the frame but as all the cloud had moved in that direction I finally gave up and composed a couple of shots to include the docks... they were my favourites of the night!

Standing outside the Co-operative hardware store at Beamish Museum is this absolute masterpiece of motor car preservation, a 1901 four seater tonneau, made by The Progress Cycle Co. of Coventry and UK registered EU 12.
Note the blanket lying on the front. Even on a warm day this must have been an essential part of the car's equipment.
The Progress Cycle Company made cars from 1898 until 1903. They also made motorcycles between 1900 and 1905.

Despite a country-wide housing crunch, commercial development in the PNW is robust. A number of high-rises are going up. Commercial Real Estate in downtown urban areas still command high premiums. New retailers are moving in, along with the hopes of high-end downtown luxury living. We'll see. I'm cautiously optimistic.
A field vehicle, loaded with soil was passing with grand style leaving behind the dusty jet in its muddy pathway. The vehicle named Swaraj, meaning Independence likely has some significance to our independence day in India. Its progress is much like the India's with corruptions following it even after the 69th year of the independence! Pics was taken from the mid Ganges in a village of Burdwan, W.B., India.
My Licca dollhouse is progressing steadily. The roof terrace is all but finished.
I've been working on the windows now. They have been a challenge to design so that they're practical and neat to make with the equipment/facilities I have. Not having a designated workshop area for woodwork is a downside, when every piece is sawn by hand. I have all this stuff just piled up in my dolly room now and I need to scoot off to the backyard warehouse when I need to saw something. Hehe!
I will do some touch ups on the paint work all over yet, but I'm fairly pleased with how its coming along, the colours chosen and such. :) Building this is so much fun, coming up with ways to do the different parts of the house and getting to play the designer a bit.

Both schooling and moccing have felt very slow and difficult for a while now. There are these ideas I have and MOCs that I want to make but these WIPs keep piling up and they feel like failures. Classes have felt similar with studies weighing in as apparent failures reflecting in poor grades.
Though, having spent a minute reflecting on these WIPs, I feel comfortable in perceiving progress in my skills. Maybe I haven't been able accomplish full completion of these ideas but I am glad that I'm still trying.
If I weren't trying in school or in moccing... I wouldn't be learning anything at all.
Felt well enough on covid day 4 to make my chicken stew. Hits the spot! Still dealing with serious fatigue & low temperature even on Tylenol, but feel like I may have turned the corner toward gettin well. Here’s hoping!
Well, I'm finally getting my MO build started on.
I am trying to incorporate this build with some EU troops and have been crunched for time lately. I'm trying to depict a scene with angry protesters storming a building that has relations with the EU army. No, this isn't inspired by the recent attacks on the US Embassy's throughout the Middle East....
Please give me some CC! I hpoe to finish this by Sunday!
