25 volunteers showed up for a fun evening of appreciation on Feb. 9. Volunteers gave close to 3,000 hours in 2016 and helped with completion of 30 projects and helping in the Seedling Tree Nursery.

We had a wonderful afternoon with Programming A. Our students learned the basics of programming with Scratch Jr. By the end of the day we were creating a dance party! We can tell it’s going to be a great week.

Professional Year Programs were launched by the Government of Australia with the approval of Department of Immigration and Border Protection with the aim to train international students in Australia who are fresh graduates the required skills and knowledge for working in the industry.

Through United Way’s partnership with Wells Fargo Advisors and the Wells Fargo Advisors’ Focus on College! Program, children and families are given the tools to prepare for success in college. Participants set a savings goal of $250, and Wells Fargo Advisors matches contributions dollar-for-dollar. This year, participants had the opportunity to enter an essay and coloring contest. Nine winners were awarded $529 and the grand prize winner, Kahalia Adams-Ellison, was awarded $5,290.
