A 3-day (Jan 18-20) workshop on “Field Epidemiology & Laboratory Training Program” (FELTP) was held in Cappadocia with Twenty-five MoH experts in field epidemiology, early warning and response, and laboratory participated. The Event started with a high-level panel discussion on Integration of laboratory surveillance in “Epidemic Intelligence workforce system”. The panel members discussed on integrating in-country and regional health systems under one unified, rapid service delivery mechanism, with “Field Epidemiology Training Program” (FETP), “Early Warning Response System” (EWRS) and linkage with Laboratory services in adherence to International Health Regulations (IHR). Panelists discussed crosscutting integration of health systems under IHR core requirements, as well as the factors for efficient Health Logistics and Operations. The “Field Epidemiology & Laboratory Training Program” objective is to contribute to a workforce of excellence of highly skilled health professionals to strengthen public health surveillance and improve the quality and integration of laboratory services with epidemiology services in responding to public health threat including outbreaks.

25 volunteers showed up for a fun evening of appreciation on Feb. 9. Volunteers gave close to 3,000 hours in 2016 and helped with completion of 30 projects and helping in the Seedling Tree Nursery.

I would like to use my talents and skills I have learned in this career to be able to give back. Being able to go on this trip would give me to opportunity to do that as well as becoming exposed to the field in a different part of the world".

The Oregon National Guard Child and Youth Program hosted the "Knights Under the Stars" Military Youth Ball on January 24, 2026, at the Willamette Heritage Center in Salem, Oregon. With a medieval Renaissance theme, the event brought together over 207 attendees, including 118 children, for an evening of celebration and connection. Organized by the program's youth teen panel, the annual ball serves as one of the largest family-focused events of the year, bringing military families together from across the state for dinner, dancing, and community building.
