Volunteer Costa Rica Sea Turtles Conservation Program These programs are scattered along the Pacific Coast with the main projects in Puntarenas and Guanacaste provinces. The projects range from very secluded locations that require 4/4 vehicles and boats to access the program area to those closer to towns. Volunteers participate on the sea turtle preservation including monitoring and registering nesting patterns, record keeping of eggs, moving eggs to the hatchery, beach patrols, freeing of the newborns to the ocean. Experience not required, but anticipate strange work hours (middle of the night!) and lots of time spent on the beach. * Most births occur between July and November. #volunteer #costarica #seaturtles #abroaderview

Victory Programs' Founder & President Emeritus, Jonathan Scott, retired after 43 years of serving some of the most vulnerable members of the Greater Boston community. During his four decades with Victory Programs, Jonathan oversaw the launch of dozens of innovative programs to address the needs of people in recovery from substance use disorder, people living with HIV/AIDS, and individuals and families facing homelessness. On May 30, hundreds of agency friends, personal friends of Jonathan, current and former staff, and agency alumni gathered to celebrate Jonathan's many successes and wish him well as he starts the next chapter of his life. La VII edición de la Feria Internacional de Medio Ambiente (FIMA) cuenta en esta ocasión con el pabellón de Programas y Proyectos SAVIA, el cual es liderado por el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible, brindando a los visitantes una puesta en escena innovadora y experiencial. Además, incluye una muestra de expositores donde entidades nacionales, internacionales, empresas privadas y aliados estratégicos están dando a conocer los mejores programas, proyectos, logros y resultados en cuanto a la sostenibilidad.
Colombia Carbono Neutral es la temática central del pabellón SAVIA, el cual tiene a disposición de las asistentes salas interactivas inspiradas en el cuidado del medio ambiente y la sostenibilidad. Este encuentro ha sido pensado y diseñado para que cada visitante que ingrese se transporte a la experiencia de lo que sería vivir en una Colombia carbono neutral, lo que permitirá mejorar la calidad de vida y respirar un aire más puro. Al final de esta experiencia de sensibilización, cada asistente saldrá con la idea de que vale la pena apostarle a las metas del 2050, objetivo que se ha trazado el Ministerio del Medio Ambiente y las entidades del sector.
Este pabellón se pensó con base en los siguientes criterios:
1. Mitigación de la huella desde el diseño.
2. Reutilización de materiales (todo este material será posteriormente recuperado con cero desperdicios o serán devueltos a los procesos originales).
3. Uso de materiales naturales (plantas, pisos en hojarascas, piedras, muros en tejidos, maderas certificadas).
4. SAVIA tiene como objetivo generar de forma conjunta y unificada soluciones de exhibición que mitigan el impacto en transporte y recursos para los participantes.
5. Los espacios serán demarcados para implementar el distanciamiento físico y controlar los aforos en áreas académicas, filas y estands.
Son cinco las salas académicas de actividades y activaciones, cada espacio presenta un diseño especial y de acuerdo con la agenda se presentan temas como la vida, el planeta y el cambio climático, ciudadanía ambiental y el reto de la educación; innovación camino al futuro del planeta y restauración ecológica en las nuevas configuraciones territoriales.
Carlos Eduardo Correa, ministro de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible aseguró que “es prioridad que Colombia se convierta en carbono neutral y para ello es necesario reducir la deforestación, hacer tecnificación y lograr un mejor manejo de las tierras en el campo colombiano. De esta manera, se podrá transicionar hacia la no dependencia de los combustibles fósiles”.
Los espacios académicos que se abordan en los pabellones les permiten a los visitantes e invitados especiales, expositores y ciudadanos hacer un recorrido interactivo e innovador que se presenta como el preámbulo de la introducción temática y de sensibilización sobre la realidad de la Colombia diversa.
“En el marco de FIMA 2021 se están dando cita gremios y organizaciones con el fin de seguir impulsando la sensibilización en la reducción de las emisiones de Gases de Efecto Invernadero, por medio de estrategias como la medición del carbono, proyectos que abanderen la emisión y reducción de emisiones para lograr la meta a 2050”, expresó Andrés López, presidente de Corferias.
Pabellones inspirados en metas a 2050
La geografía de los pabellones tienen un orden basado en retomar las acciones previstas con base en la estrategia 2050, por lo tanto, los asistentes se encontrarán con cinco salas destacadas que se podrán visualizar durante el recorrido de la siguiente manera:
1. Hagamos ciencia: En este espacio las instituciones pertenecientes al Minambiente promoverán actividades de concientización ambiental.
2. De cara al mar: Esta sala conmemora la representación que tienen los océanos en la biodiversidad del planeta y su papel protagónico al momento de mantener la temperatura estable en el mundo.
3. Huella verde: Los visitantes vivirán una experiencia ambientada en el ciclo del agua de los páramos colombianos.
4. Respira: Minambiente tiene una meta de siembra de 180 millones de árboles. “Si Colombia respira bien, nosotros respiramos mejor”, así lo expresa el ministro Carlos Eduardo Correa.
5. Colombia Nuestra Casa: Una Colombia biodiversa e innovadora, pujante y resiliente que emprende y se compromete con los objetivos estratégicos a 2050 con la finalidad de ser un país carbono neutral.
Es importante mencionar que, según el Acuerdo de París, Colombia se comprometió a reducir sus emisiones de Gases Efecto Invernadero en un 51 % en el año 2030 y llegar al 2050 a ser un país carbono neutral. / Sep. 30, 2021. El programa UtiliTIC es una propuesta del CITA dirigida a estudiantes, con el fin de ayudarles a descubrir la parte útil de las TIC en el entorno educativo.
A través de su participación en este programa, los alumnos de 2º, 4º y 6º de Educación Primaria, y de 2º y 4º de ESO, conocerán las pautas necesarias para hacer un uso responsable de Internet, para realizar búsquedas eficaces de la información y para construir conocimiento utilizando herramientas colaborativas.
Porque es muy importante que utilicen las TIC, pero no lo es menos que lo hagan de forma responsable y eficaz.

Mu Guiying was a famous female general and the granddaughter-in-law of the prominent Generals of the Yang family in Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960– 1127). When Western Xia invades, the emperor orders a martial arts competition to select a commander. Mu Guiying, who is now retired and, in her fifties, refuses to accept the seal at first. But later persuaded by the Dowager She, she decides to accept the post to defend the country.

Tari Margapati is about Margapati. It is derived from the word "marga" meaning beast, while "pati" means king, ruler, or master. The dance movement is inspired by the gestures of ‘king of the jungle’ or ‘lord of the beast’ (AKA, the Lion) which is fierce and frightening, stalking its prey. Margapati dance is often called the dance of the savage lion. Margapati is classified as "bebancihan", which is an ancient balinese concept which portrays courage and elegance, embracing qualities across the gender spectrum.
