The Library Codelab: Intro to Programming class is hard at work writing out their first program. This class was held in honor of STEAM month and taught by library staff. This class used no computers to teach computer science concepts, such as: logic, programming languages, and more. Students created programs such as "Going to the Gym" or "Alert me when my car has less than a 1/4 tank of Gas." This class was held at Plaza Midwood Library on Tuesday, October 1.

Named for Home Economics professor Celine Neptune (1886-1949) who was insturmental in developing the domestic sciences program at Northern Illinois State Normal School (now Northern Illinois University).
The North hall broke ground in 1954 and was open to female residents the following fall. Halls West, East, and Central all broke ground in 1958. According to the dedication brochure, "one of the unique features of the residence hall area (Neptune East and West) is the 'central core' plan which places all bathroom facilites, pressing rooms, storage areas, and stiarways in the center of the building, with small corridors on each side providing access to student rooms." (QR 1.48, "Neptune Halls")
