A colourful bush in Main Cemetery / Hauptfriedhof, Frankfurt-Nordend, Germany

As promised, I grabbed my easel and paints and headed up to Nova Scotia to capture the colors and character of the harbor towns on the North Atlantic. A beautiful sunny and calm day provided the perfect canvas for today's Street View scene.

Water color rendition of a Google Earth Street View

------------------------------------------------------

For my new Flickr friends,

I love to investigate the world via Google Street View, and occasionally I set up my watercolor easel (figuratively) and create a Plein Air painting of a scene. I use the digital art program called DAP to create these paintings. I try to find places that are not so well known, and today's painting is definitely not well known.

Saludos

Our forests and our fields are undergoing programmed death. For the maximum economic return, to maximize profits, they are depleted, exploited and killed.

And yet it's the only thing that makes us live. Until then, we can not feed ourselves with plastic or derivatives of petrol.

Why sign their death? Why exterminate them?

When CMF series 15 and 16 came out with the cyborg figs, I thought combining them together with other parts would make a good Tron program.

The early 393 led me to the start path, chasing through Mechanic Falls, Oxford, Paris and Bryant Pond. Here at Mechanic Falls, you can already see the light starting to draw lower, so the challenge again this time of year is to get some great parting shots but luck was with me today as I had light all the way through Oxford. Seen at the 'Dish' Apartment in downtown Mechanic Falls with a bit of hustle.

Georgia wildflowers grow alongside an exit ramp. This is part of the Georgia D.O.T.'s Wildflower Program which began in 1974 when Virginia Hand Callaway started the movement to plant and protect wildflowers on the roadsides. Later, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter met with Lady Bird Johnson to discuss the highly-successful Texas Wildflower Program. Following the trip, the Georgia D.O.T. enthusiastically endorsed the program for implementation here.

Not only are they pretty - and sometimes stunning - to look at, the program also helps to restore and preserve native flora, and because these native flowers are already adapted to soil and climate conditions, they need little to no maintenance.

"The Canon AE-1 Program builds upon the legacy of its predecessor, the Canon AE-1, which revolutionized the photography industry upon its release in 1976. The AE-1 was among the first SLR cameras to feature a microprocessor, making it more accessible to amateur photographers with its aperture-priority auto-exposure mode. With its user-friendly design and reliability, the AE-1 became one of the best-selling cameras of its time, solidifying Canon's reputation as a leader in the industry.

The AE-1 Program, introduced in 1981, further refined the original AE-1 model by adding program auto-exposure mode, hence the "Program" designation. This new feature allowed the camera to automatically select both aperture and shutter speed, providing even greater convenience for photographers while still offering manual control options.

Together, these cameras represent milestones in the evolution of SLR photography, combining technological innovation with user-friendly design to make high-quality photography accessible to enthusiasts of all levels."

Bought mine when 15ish year old, still work like a watch.

A page from the official program of the Second Atlanta Pop Festival,1970. This program was subject to change and it did. Everyone started late and many played at a different time from what was shown here. The music went until the early hours of each morning. I was a big fan of Jethro Tull but he was a no show. The Allman Brothers did start and end the show but I did not get any pictures of them - they were no so famous in my neck of the woods at that time. Jimi Hendrix did play on the fourth of July with a big fireworks show.

This is a contemporary photo of the original tabloid size program printed on newsprint. The 4 photos of the program in this set reflect the complete program except for some advertisements that I did not photograph.

Upper East Side, Central Park - Jun 2008 - 085

These pictures were taken on two successive days when I had doctor appointments on the Upper East Side of NYC, and had the chance to walk along Fifth Avenue, and then through Central Park in order to return to my apartment on the Upper West Side, at Broadway & 96th

I had spotted this woman jogging in Central Park a little earlier -- how could you not notice someone in a bright pink top and pink hat? She had been running south, while I was walking north, and she went by too quickly for me to get a picture.

But about ten minutes later, as I was approaching Columbus Avenue and 96th Street, she jogged past me again ... she had to stop at Columbus Avenue, because of the traffic, so she was actually jogging in place when I took this picture...

Note: on Sep 26, 2012, I replaced the original version of this photo with a slightly edited one. All I did was some relatively minor adjusting of "hot spots" and "cold spots" -- but unfortunately, I was unable to remove all the monochromatic blackness in the woman's tights Unfortunately, the original photo was shot as a JPG image, before I learned about the benefits of shooting in RAW and making more subtle adjustments with my Aperture photo-editing program...
