The Capitol Federal Scholars program targets high-achieving students in Emporia State’s School of Business, rewarding them with scholarships for their academic performance. Each scholarship is renewable annually, meaning a student who earns the scholarship as a freshman will remain eligible through graduate school as long as he or she maintains the required minimum 3.25 GPA.
A new component of the Capitol Federal partnership with Emporia State inaugurated last year is creation of a scholarship program for student-athletes. The Capitol Federal Athletic Scholars Fund awards scholarships to one or more male student-athletes and one or more female student-athletes each year.

On December 9, 2016, the Arboretum and Public Garden had the opportunity to welcome a group of students from a journalism program in Visalia CA. The aspiring young journalists had the opportunity to interview our Museum Education & Interpretive Manager- Maya Makker, GATEways Outreach Students- Vivian Le and Rachel Le and our Outreach and Leadership Program Coordinator- Melissa Cruz.

Luis Navarro led their respective delegations through various South Carolina Military Department locations across the state, June 29, 2022. The events scheduled included visiting the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, McEntire Joint National Guard Base, Combined Support Maintenance Shop, 59th Aviation Troop Command Complex, 169th Fighter Wing, McCrady Training Center, and various components within the South Carolina Military Department. This key leader engagement between the South Carolina National Guard and the Colombian Military will review goals set forth during previous engagements, examine progress, and refine goals for the future.
